WTF Monday

A leftover Flaxjack from The Little Grill with TJ's Maple Syrup for breakfast...
A heated up slice of The Randy Radish Quiche for lunch...
Boca Chikn Patties and CSA Kohlrabi (hiding out behind the Patties) for dinner. I was fully anticipating hating Kohlrabi, but it was delicious. Way better than Turnips.
Mr. SVegetarian went to Loving Hut this afternoon(for his own carry-out order) and brought me back some desserts from Vegan Treats. I greatly enjoyed a half a slice of Hazelnut Cake for dessert.
We got about an inch of rain today. Afterwards, a big Snail was seen on the side of the house...
and the Peonies planted by the previous owners of our property were very soggy. I'm not a fan of Peonies but VaVa likes them, so I took a pic.
Lunch from WF's tomorrow.

The peony definitely makes up for the cicada paranoia I'm now dealing with ;) So pretty!

Great looking meals! Gotta love pancakes and that quiche! Did you just get a whole quiche? Or a whole bunch of slices? How great that you are finding new produce that you like! I think that's the best part of the CSA boxes... oh man that chocolate hazelnut cake gets me every time. Looks so good.

Aw what a sad soggy peony.
Yr doing better than I am with the vegetables - I don't think I've ever had kohlrabi. Better than turnips, huh?
I like that you garnish yr dinners. Keeping it classy.

I discovered that I like kohlrabi, too, but only if it's cooked (it's great in tinfoil dinners). My in-laws grow it and always give us a bunch.

The snail is adorable and I, too, like peonies, so I appreciate the pic!

You must have an awesome quiche stash! As far as i can tell the randy radish can do no wrong.... How did you make the kholrabi? It's such a mild flavor, just scary to look at. Turnips are another story, i have only enjoyed them when part of a root veg hash situation.
That cake slice looks so good- i love anything and everything hazelnut.....

Gena and I roasted kholrabi the other night, and it was the first time for both of us eating it. SO GOOD. Hey there, CSA fun!

Hey Now!!!

VaVa, yep, I bought a Whole Quiche for $20. The CSA stuff is impeding my consumption however.

FF, what the h*ll kind of 'Vegetable Advisor' has never had Kohlrabi?! For shame!

RVs, I remember now seeing your in-law's Kohlrabi in last summer's garden bounty! I never thought I'd ever eat some. How funny.

Unknown, there's still a half a Quiche left. Since I had no desire whatsoever to eat Kohlrabi in any form. Eating it raw seemed way worse than cooked, so I simmered it in Earth Balance, Chickenless Boullion, Thyme and S&P.

Hannah, they should rename 'Kohlrabi' to 'Potatoes Without Calories' and more people would eat it.
