Tuesday, June 18th

I'm saving the Banana Bread for when I can really relish it. Instead, I brought a semi-defrosted Blueberry Muffin from Le Pain Quotidien for breakfast..
Lunch was from Lotus Vegetarian Restaurant. The "Lotus Spicy" Lunch Special $7.95 Diced Soy Protein sautéed with Dried Tofu, Celery, Organic Carrots, Green and Red Bell Peppers and sprinkled with Peanuts in spicy Kung Pao Sauce, including Brown Rice and Spring Roll. Very good today.
More Escarole and Lentil Soup for dinner. Believe it or not, there is still more soup left, as well as lots of Vegetables from last weeks CSA order...
Tofurky Italian Deli Slices Sandwich for dessert.
WFH grub tomorrow. In addition to another CSA haul to add to last weeks haul.

Do you know the Australian story The Magic Pudding? Probably not. But you may well have The Magic Soup.

I always freeze my extra soup- just poured into individual tupperwares and frozen. Works great.
Your lunching looks so good! But what is "soy protein" if not tofu? Is it like "chiken"?

I passed the LPQ of Clarendon this past Sunday -- my family opted for Cheesecake Factory for brunch, which I knew has a solid vegetable salad that you've ordered before. It didn't disappoint, but I'm looking forward to some French vegan baked goods in my near future.

I really liked Lotus, but I think the last time I was there was at least a year ago. Must remedy that.

That's a never ending pot of soup! That's the problem I had with the CSA- I could never use everything up even though we only had a half share and ate a lot of vegetables every day. Like you said, my in-laws garden is our CSA now. :)

Love your savory desserts. That seriously is the never ending pot of soup! It's such a beautiful soup though I'd love to have a ton of it in my fridge :) The lunch from Lotus looks absolutely delicious!

You just use banana bread instead of regular bread for the french toast :) Dip in the batter and cook like french toast. Mmm.

Hey Now!!!

Hannah, in the States, 'Magic Soup' is usually a Cabbage Soup that is eaten for a week to help the eater lose five pounds quickly. We teach each other all kinds of useless things don't we?

Unknown, I think if I ever froze soup, I would never defrost it. I don't know why that is though. There appeared to just be regular Tofu in the dish.

Jared, how unbelievable is it that Cheesecake Factory has so few vegan options? I'm not as big a fan of Lotus, but I will admit that yesterdays lunch was very good.

RVs, I belonged to a CSA several years ago and didn't have the Vegetable overload problem I'm having with this one. My pups will be enjoying some Beets and Turnips this week. At least your in-laws grow what they know what will be eaten up quickly.

VaVa, what kind of vegan french toast batter is there? You are way ahead of me on this one.
