Saturday, June 22nd

Sarah Kramer Banana Pancakes with TJ's Maple Syrup for breakfast...
Lunch was at Black Bear Bistro where Mr. SVegetarian and I split some out of focus Grilled Artichokes and Red Pepper Coulis to start...
I had the 'Garbanzo Burger' with Red Pepper Coulis and Fries. It was just so so. I'm not doing so well eating out lately except for The Randy Radish.
CSA Soup comprised of Yellow Squash, Snap Peas, Hakurei Turnips (including the Greens), Beet Greens,  Basil, and Oregano. Non CSA components were the Wegmans Organic Diced Tomatoes, Garbanzos, Onion, Garlic and Chili Powder. I made a massive pot of this Soup, so it will be around for a while...
PPK Banana Bread for dessert.
The Eastern Phoebes Chicks have grown substantially in the past few days and lost their peach fuzz, but their eyes still appear closed.
I sure hope I eat all delicious food all day tomorrow.

Wow those birds look like dusty old dinosaurs. So cool.
Haven't heard about Black Bear Bistro from you much lately...too bad about the burger, it looks pretty great.

Awww the chicks are too cute! Bummer about your lunch. It seems like they like their red pepper coulis. I'd need to order everything sans red pepper coulis as you know how I feel about peppers ;)

Your soups all look amazing and this one is no exception! You pack so many veggies in. I love really lovely, hearty soups. I'm all about that banana bread.

Hmm. . .was it the garbanzo burger itself, or another stale fry / bun combo? I recall the winter menu being especially good-looking.

Re: I don't know how or when, but you will try the Vegan Van! ;)

You are the only one in control of whether or not you eat delicious food.

The chicks are adorable! You're lucky to be able to see them grow up.

Too bad about eating out lately. We've been on streaks like that before, but hopefully that just means lots of good stuff is in your future.

Hey Now!!!!

GFHTummy, Babies and Banana Bread. Two of my favorites;-)

FF, it is interesting how the Baby Chicks have such huge mouths and eyes. They will grow into them quickly.

VaVa, you love Hummus and Stuffed Grape Leaves, I would think Red Peppers (Muhammara) would go along with those foods. Sorry you don't enjoy them. I'm sad I don't enjoy Beets and Eggplant. Working on it.

Ingrid, it was the burger itself that was not good. I think the Veggie Chili has become the only reason to go to Black Bear Bistro and it's only available in winter.

Hannah, nice pep talk, but very day I seriously endeavor to eat delicious food and sometimes I fail miserably!

RVs, at least one of our porch nests yielded babies. Hopefully, next year your nest will get finished and utilized.
