Saturday, December 20th

After seven long days, I finally got to return to Native Foods. I have been studying the menu all week and settled on the 'Oklahoma Bacon Cheeseburger' $9.95 Seitan, Cheddar, Onions, Bacon, BBQ Sauce topped with Battered Dill Pickle Chips (abbreviated version of meal). I wanted to just shove something big and messy in my mouth, so this worked out well and I didn't feel like sh*t for the rest of the day...
Mr. SVegetarian went for the 'Bangkok Curry' $9.95 Tofu Steak, Steamed Veggies, Kale, Brown Rice with a Lemongrass Ginger Coconut Milk Curry....
FF got me into these Suja juices. They're on sale at WF's now for $3.50 each. Enjoyed one as an afternoon repast. I sip it and think of FF on one of her gritty walks of shame...
I had ordered my own 'Bangkok Curry' to go, but was still full from lunch, so the Pups helped me with about half of it...
Could only eat a tiny portion of my 'Gingerbread Sandwich Cookie' stuffed with Maple Cream. The Cookies were super soft and moist with crunchy sugar topping. Delectable Maple filling...
Where to spend my dining dollars tomorrow? Tune in to find out. Bye for now.

Haha! If I had a dollar for every gritty walk of shame, I'd buy those Suja drinks more often.
Daaaamn that Bacon Cheeseburger looks incredible! messy, sure, but whoa. Didn't skimp on the fries either. There is a cheeseburger at Peacefood, but I've never had it. Really curious as to how they'd pull it off. For some reason I feel like it wouldn't be as satisfying as yrs.
Bangkok curry sounds more like something I'd actually order, though. Was it good, even if you couldn't finish it?
Thought that cookie was a ginger ice cream sandwich at first.

What a burger!! That sounds like a killer combo, but it looks like there was no way to pick it up...? Nice pile of fries there too.
I always think of a curry as a very saucy kind of dish, but that one looks like a sauce on the side situation. All that kale and tofu looks so good. And that cookie...! How fabulous to have this close to you!

Hey Now!!!!!

FF, the Bangkok Curry was good, but I am nit a rice fanatic and the Pups are. Looking forward to your weekly grub rcap and seeing all the homemade gifts you made this year.

Unknown, picking up the burger was daunting, but I just plowed ahead and cleaned my plate by the end. If you order the Earth Bowls in the restaurant, the sauce is mixed in. En route to California now? what did you pack for snacking on the flight?

VP, I know you are a fan of the critter pics;-)

Sarah, Native Foods is expanding so rapidly, i am sure they will be in your neighborhood soon enough. They have lots of healthy things you would love.
