The first of the three Natty Greenes Freedom IPAs that got me through my time at DC Vegfest this afternoon. I could not have survived without them...
I spent over an hour in line for the Woodland's Vegan Bistro Truck...
Was not how I expected to spend the majority of my time at Vegfest, but most of the other food purveyors had equally long lines...
Mr. SVegetarian was able to procure some Ethiopian Grub for sustenance while we took turns waiting in The Line...
Below is the Barking Lot where Pups could cool off in the baby pool...
Robin Quivers spoke and signed books. I missed her speech because I was waiting in The Line, but got to see her afterwards to tell her how beautiful she is and how much I love her. She was charming and vivacious as always...
the line for the Vegan Treats booth was literally almost a half mile long..
I would have loved to have bought some of their goodies but there was no time to wait over an hour in another line...
At least I went. Bye for now.

I knew you were a Stern fan from your Hey Now!!! How lucky that you got to meet Robin, she really is beautiful and such an inspiration! I'm impressed that you made it through and it seems like you ate (and drank well)! The sandwich looks amazing but I'm zeroed in on those pastries. Yum. I'd love to get to a Vegfest.
I'm not a city girl which is why I love Rochester. It is beautiful and mellow and a lot if my friends live here in Western NY :)
Sorry for the choppy comment, I feel your iPad pain (I'm on my iPhone and this is my 4th attempt!).
Love all the photos! I guess the fact the festival was so popular is good thing.... But waiting in line still sucks. Totally cool you saw Robin too. Vegan treats stuff does look awesome but one mega line is more than enough for an afternoon!
I walked past cinnamon snail yesterday around lunch and the line was almost a block long! Not enough time for that....
I add a spinkle of salt to the ground in the grocery store pb since no salt pb is gross.

It's a shame the lines were so long. Vendors should consider getting more booths, and have more cashiers. I went about 3 years ago, and was able to visit about 15-20 booths. That was fun.
They used to give out goodie bags, full of coupons and samples, at least to the first wave on entrants. Did they have goodie bags this year?
Well, I would queue too for those treats! :-)
Ciao

Sounds like a fun, albeit hot, day! I don't mind standing in line as long as I have good people watching and sunscreen! And a nice brew to quench your thirst - even better! Both the Ethiopian plate and your Sandwich and mac look pretty great.
I've not used the L'Enfant station, looks beautiful!
Hey Now!!!!
Sarah, aaah!! the agony of having your comment disappear! so horrible. refreshing constantly and starting over and over. I assumed Rochester was a big city as well. It doesnt have a beach, but maybe has a few open photo editor jobs?
Unknown, I can imagine the line for Cinnamon Snail would be long. I dont know how I would handle it if I had the opportunity to try their food. I would lose so much time. If these trucks could take orders in advance or send someone down the line to get their order, so folks could leave and come back later, it would be in their best interest to do so. Glad to know I am not alone in needing a little something extra in my PB.
David, the Vegfest site said there were goodie bags for the first 1,000 festival goers, but we didnt arrive till@12:15, so i didnt see any. I believe a lot of vendors lost a lot of $$ by not being able to move their lines through more expeditiously. Only Bread & Brew seemed to know how to hustle the Beer and Nachos successfully. You're lucky you got to try so many vendors, I missed about 95% of the whole shindig.
Alessandra, I would have enjoyed my time in line more if I thought of it as being 'in queue'.
Imgrid, the people watching at Vegfest wasnt as interesting as what I saw on the metro getting there and back. Did get to see some beautiful Pups at Vegfest, though.
