Tuesday, November 26th

After sleeping in late, lunch was at Hanaro Japanese Restaurant. I started with a 'Lychee Cosmo' $10 Absolute Vodka, Soho Lychee Flavored Liqueur, Cranberry Juice with a splash of Lime.  Actual Lychee sitting in the bottom of my glass....
A fresh and tasty Side Salad with Sesame Dressing came with the entrees...
My 'Vegetarian' Sushi Entree $19 Asparagus Roll, Cucumber Roll, Avocado Roll, Two Pieces of Inari and Two Pieces of Mushroom Sushi. The Mushroom Sushi was very impressive and I ate the Pickled Ginger per Unknown's rec. This was my first time eating Pickled Ginger, and I am not sure what to make of it. Strange combo of flavors -- spicy and pickled.....
The 'Inari' is Tofu Skin stuffed with Rice in case you didn't know...
'Navy Bean and Kale Soup' from The Randy Radish for dinner...
Almond Dream Cappuccino Swirl for dessert. Could not get a decent pic of this ice cream to save my life...
Back to WFH grub tomorrow, but just for one day. No Cereal or Sandwich is planned.

Wow, great looking meals! The weather was atrocious today, I'm impressed that you braved the elements to get some great looking food. The lychee cosmo sounds yummy and that sushi plate looks perfect!! I LOVE inari!!My WFs used to sell it but I haven't seen it in forever! I'm definitely jealous.

Beautiful looking soup. Randy Radish really does everything right it seems! I think the ice cream looks great. I was so cold today I couldn't imagine eating ice cream but I'll live vicariously through you!

What a gorgeous lunch and drink. I don't think I've ever had inari but it sounds interesting. I used to get asparagus sushi from Sunac, where I also got the shiitake mushroom sushi. It's been a long time....
Pickled ginger will grow on you, I think. I love it.

I LOVE lychee martinis! Especially the little boozy fruit snack at the bottom! Glad you tried the pickled ginger- i like how it has a spicy warm heat that doesn't hurt like a jalapeno does. Gorgeous plate of sushi goodies too- any sushi with mushrooms gets my vote.
That soup looks like its really soothing for a chilly night, another gold star for Randy. Just looking at your ice cream makes me shiver!

What a fantastic day off (I'm guessing there were also relaxing activities and animal snuggling?). The Vegetarian Sushi plate and martini are definitely envy worthy! Inari is new to me, and it sounds tasty.

I hope today's WFH goes quickly, and then you are able to enjoy some time doing whatever you'd like to do!

So, do you pronounce it "lie-chee" or "lit-chee"?

Hey Now!!!!

Sarah, at some points it definitely seemed stupid to be risking our lives driving in the sleet to go out to lunch.

FF, is there anything ginger-flavored that you don't like?

Unknown, Lychee Martinis need to go mainstream for sure. Thanks for getting me to try another new thing.

Ingrid, it was a nice day off. Too bad about this nasty weather though. You're probably more used to it than I am.

Hannah, I always assumed it was pronounced 'lee-chee'. You come from that part of the world, am I wrong?

"Lee-chee" is what I meant by "lit-chee". I'd never heard anyone pronounce it that way until I came to North America. I have no idea what's right, but I've only heard "lie-chee" in Australasia. Language is an interesting beast.
