Friday, November 29th

No breakfast today, instead, I returned to Maryland to get carryout with my mother for lunch. Ize's 'Vegan Sandwich' $5.99 Hummus, Lettuce, Tomato, Sprouts and Onions on a Poppy Seed Bagel (apologies to the pickle haters (Molly) out there)...
Randy Radish 'Seitan Roast with Kale Stuffing' with Imagine Mushroom Gravy, Baked Potatoes and Sour Supreme for dinner...
WF's Apple Pie (leftover from yesterday) with Almond Dream Cappuccino Swirl for dessert...
The pursuit of comfort food continues tomorrow.

I'll have one of everything please! That sandwich looks really delicious and you know I can definitely appreciate a delicious pickle on the side. Dinner looks great as always. I feel like you can't go wrong with potatoes and sour cream. OR PIE. I'd like some pie. And then you go and add ice cream and just raise that bar to a whole new level of awesomeness. Mmm.

Dinner was really quiet, just family. Delilah is a little under the weather so she was not in the best mood unfortunately.

Amazing bagelwich!! The bagel shops never seem to have sprouts here, love the side of pickled goodness with it. The roast looks great today too. Not sure i would ever think coffee ice cream with apple pie but since they're both delicious why the hell not??

Yesterday they had actually ordered the whole meal prepared so everything was just reheated, the group was a bunch of non- cooks and they loved my salad :) their funny little dog liked me, we played fetch with his squeaky frog and he slept ontop of my feet thru dinner. I offered my dogsitting services next time they leave town.....

I'm not great with geography but I find it so incredible that you cross state borders to find food. DC, maryland, virginia...so funny, though I'm sure they're all pretty close. What's a couple more states north to hit NY?
Dessert looks fantastic. We had baked apples on Thanksigivng that were really good, but a crust and some ice cream make it even nicer.

I don't mind pictures of pickles! :) Your bagel sandwich sounds pretty delicious.

The roast will definitely not go to waste. We rarely throw food out and Mike likes the roast so much that it'll be gone in another few days. I'm glad I tried it, at least.

Tis the season for comfort food (and pickles). Happy Thanksgiving (I think I forgot to say that before).

I'll take both the sandwich and the pickle.

What are the odds of the Field Roast moving below $21? I'd love to try it, but that's half of my normal grocery budget!

Mmm. . .apple pie.

Hey Now!!!!

Sarah, a quiet dinner sounds ideal. Sorry the little doll wasn't feeling up to snuff.

Unknown, a catered meal with some Manhattan intellectuals sounds really great too! Like out of a Woody Allen movie. You must blog! We're missing out on exciting stuff! I imagine the dog as a rough coat Terrier.

FF, alas, it's not like I'm crossing from France into Italy to get food. On my death bed, I am planning lots of regretting over not hitting NYC way more often.

RVs, Don't know how bad your Pickle aversion is. I work with someone that gets very squeamish around Pickles and makes a big scene when eradicating them from meals. Glad the Roast wont go to waste.

Hannah, I despise the T word, but thanks.

Ingrid, the Field Roast has been on sale at WF's for $19.99 for a couple weeks, but it's not worth going into debt for. You might be like Molly and not even like it.
