Lunch was a Veggie Sandwich at Market Table Bistro. That's pickled fennel on top, not onions. The beets on the side were an unpleasant surprise. I detest beets. Almost as much as I detest wasting food. So I had to eat the beets. The beets were g'damn delicious! Only at this restaurant though, I'm sure. Dinner was two non-organic Boca Chicken Patties with Swiss Chard...Black Swan Merlot...

You secretly love beets, but have been subjected to an unpleasant beet experience in the past...trust me, I'm a doctor (well, no, not really, but I've been considering purchasing a Doctor of Divinity degree online so I can marry people, heh). Pickled fennel, eh? What was that like?
Pickled fennel sounds good! I want to try some.
And yeah, I think beets have a PR problem, but they really aren't bad little guys.
I love all that oregano on top of the chick'n patties.
seriously i would take them home and force feed them to whatever animal i could collar first:)
I feel the same way about beets! :o)
Thank you for the clarification on your banner name. I just remember something about spinach in your teeth...
I love beets. Chard, not so much.
hey yea you did put stuff in your bio! but i miss your banner. are you sick of being called Shen all the time?
Hello, Ladies!!!
Zoa, sorry, I'm already married, but if I wasn't, I'd totally hire you to perform the ceremony (and make you recite Paradise Lost afterwards). The Pickled Fennel was confusing since I just assumed I was eating the mildest onions on the planet.
Rose, I hope I come across good Beets again one day.
Michelle1, you have no idea how bummed I was to see the Beets on my plate. I took the title of the blog down so no one will know what website I'm on at work.
Michelle2, next time you pass through the Winchester area you'll have to try these Beets and let me know what you think.
Jessica, I love Beet Greens. Beet roots, not so much. Till yesterday...
I don't necessarily go seeking out beets in general, but when I do eat them, I feel okay about it. I've been trying to make them more of a part of my life.
