Two New Salads

Lunch was a Spinach Salad with Tofu & Avocado from Sweetgreen. I'd bought a Groupon for this place, and I'm looking forward to future carry-out from there. Salads taste better when they're made by someone else and this one also comes with a nice chewy slab of bread.
Dinner was the Quinoa Black-Bean Salad recipe from NYTime's Readers Favorites -- made with Garbanzo Beans and without Cilantro...
Cherry Amaretto Ice Cream for dessert. Highly recommend.
A bottle of Charles Shaw Shiraz...

I love looking at your blog everyday to see what you ate for the day:) The salads look very yummy. I love cherry icecream, or actually cherries in anything. Did you see the recipe for Cherry Almond Icecream on my blog side panel? It is my own creations and so easy and delicious. I used the little Cuisanart icecream freezer. It really works well.

Mm, simple salads are so good sometimes. I always wish I had bread with mine. Sounds great.

The salads look really awesome. I love the close ups...I feel like I could just reach through the ether with my own fork and take a bite.

The cherry ice cream sounds good too.

Okay, I am on a bit of a blog hiatus, but I had to say thanks for the link to those NYT recipes! So many of them are vegan!

Whats uuuuuuup. :) The quinoa looks really good. I love the color of it too. I always get the lighter colored quinoa. And I always see that ice cream too...will ahve to try it!

That salad does look like it tastes good! Did you like the bean quinoa dish? Sometimes I have a so-so feeling on beans mixed with grains. Sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn't.

Great Groupon! Oftentimes our groupons aren't worth buying. Your salad looks great.

Okay..so what's a groupon? The salad looks delish, so I will have to say the groupon was worth it...what ever it is. :o)

Hello, Ladies & Germ!

Michelle1, I believe Groupons will take over the world and, yes, Kale can be tough and chewy, but it is so good for you!

Deb, an ice cream machine is one thing I definitely do not need/want!

Stacy, I can see where deleting one's blog could be considered a 'hiatus'.

Blessed Mama, yes, the Quinoa w/Beans was pretty darn good.

Michelle2, Groupons are online coupons where a certain number of people have to purchase them before they're valid. So if 50 people (the group) purchase the coupon, it is activated for all. What year is it where you live?
