Lunch was off the Whole Food's Salad Bar...
Dinner was Elise's Fry Sauce with Tempeh and Tots...
Almond Dream Praline Crunch for dessert...
Below is one of the Granola Piles -- I mean Bars! -- that I made on Sunday. Once I perfect the recipe (not mine, but I screwed it up), I'll post it because the pieces are delicious.
Reader Miiindy asked: "i always wonder this--how do you know the natural flavors in the goya mixes don't contain animal products?" Miiindy! Miiindy! Miiindy! F*ck if I know! I took a pic of the ingredient list on the Goya Rice box from last night. I don't see any natural flavors...?
A bottle of Lost Vineyards Shiraz/Cabernet Sauvignon...

ah, i just checked my goya boxes--"natural flavors" are only listed on the rice and red beans and rice and pinto beans. my boxes are also pretty old, i think...
Awesome food today girl!!! Especially that salad bar!
So - I have a question for you...not sure exactly where you live, but we will be traveling up 81 from Nashville/Knoxville, etc. to Pennsylvania (Gettysburg-ish area) soon. Do you have any ideas of where to eat along the way and even fun places to stop with the kids?
That granola pile sure does look good!!! Sometimes screw ups turn out to be the best!
Hello, Ladies!!!!
Miiindy, thanks for the heads up on the other Goya mixes. I'll be more careful next time I pick one up.
Morgan, thanks!!!
Jenny, I conferred with Mr. SV on your question, and he recommended The Natural Bridge as a good stopping place. There's also Luray Caverns or Shenandoah Caverns. The vegan food situation is not promising --aside from Cheeseless Bean Burritos from Taco Bell or Chipotle -- you may need to stop at Martin's Grocery Stores for their salad bar...If you need more, let me know.
Michelle, glad those Chickpea Cutlets worked out for you!
oh wow that goya rice mix doesnt have any fake stuff in it.(msg colors etc) i had no idea! i read miindys comment and i knew thats what you were going to say!!
