Double Sunflower

Lunch and dinner were picked up from Sunflower. Lunch --"Golden Nugget" -- Marinated yuba (bean curd skin) wrapped with shredded shitake mushrooms, bamboo shoots, spiced dry tofu & soy protein in house brown sauce, broccoli with steamed napa cabbage, bean thread noodles and carrots.
Dinner was "Songbird" -- Sauteed chunks of wheat gluten, soy protein, konnyaku and celery in a hot kong-pao flavored sauce. Tossed with steamed watercress and peanuts.
Luscious Lemon Bars for dessert...
Super Lemony!
Moet & Chandon and Domaine Ste Michelle Champagne. Happy 15th Wedding Anniversary to us.

That Sunflower food looks mouth-wateringly good.
I have to get my hands on some bean curd sheets! I love the idea of those wraps, and that seitan looks so tender and tasty!

I love lemony desserts...I bet those lemon bars are good too!

Happy anniversary! Congrats - G and I just celebrated ours in May, and it's a great milestone for today. May both of our marriages last for several more decades. :-)

konnyaku ?? what is that?

bean curd skin is so crazy sounding. i remember seeing it for the first time and not knowing what the heck it was:) you say you have been vegan for about two years right? you are much more adventurist than i was at two.

Happy Anniversary! This looks like a great restaurant; how often would you want to eat at the same place twice if it's not awesome? Totally worth it!

Hello, Ladies!!!!

Thanks so much for the anniversary wishes. Wonder what makes a person announce that stuff on the internet?

Michelle1, when you ask if it feels like 15 years of marriage, I can't help but say it feels like 15 minutes....under water....but that's an old joke. Can't take credit for it.

Just curious, how did you like that konnyaku? Man, your food looks great. I'm such a snob, I just assume I could never buy anything any good and have to make it all myself, but you put that attitude to shame. Bean curd sheets...mmmmmm...

happy anniversary! the sunflower stuff all looks amazing, and the lemon bar looks even more amazing.

Zoa, to be honest, I don't think I liked the Konnyaku. I could be wrong, but there was some rubbery item in the dish that was not to my liking. If I could cook as well as you, I wouldn't bother with carryout either.

Sara, thanks!

Happy belated anniversary - actually someone who has been married longer than me. :) I'm with Rose - I think my mouth literally did water when I looked at that bar.
