Lunch was a bowl of Stella's Lentil Soup. Thick and nourishing...
and the vegetable platter at Mom's Place. Okra! The vegetables were way too tasty, so I'm thinking there may have been some butter somewhere in this dish...
Dinner was a WF's "Chef's Feature" Sandwich...
A bottle of Matthew Fox Shiraz...

If only those vegetables could come with a huge green VEGAN sticker like Whole Foods too...
Those lentils are making my mouth water. And those veggies look so vibrant and delish...I doubt they'd need butter to make them taste extra good. :)
okra under NO circumstances deserves an "!"
I wish I didn't know what you mean about the butter. I had the same experience recently when a co-worker offered me a piece of dark chocolate to try. Dark chocolate is mostly vegan, and it was so good that I looked up the ingredient list in a store later, and, sure enough...dang! Just as well, really, but still...
Okra tastes good without butter, and I can't think of any usually-buttered vegetables except corn. I get the idea Mom's Place is learning to cater to you, but who knows.
Boy, what an appetite you had! So, you had soup at home and then went out to lunch? And you had two sandwiches for dinner? Girl! But, who I am to judge? I can hardly wait until I can gorge again without worrying about a weigh-in.
That veggie platter does look delish! I'm always leery of eating out where I live. Most people think vegan is actually vegetarian...they think if it doesn't have meat in it, then it's okay....ugh
Hello, Ladies and Germ!
People love to use butter as a flavor shortcut. Must take heed.
Jessica, you are quite perceptive. Mom's Place is trying so hard. So hard.
Blessed Mama, time for a hot new avatar!
Michelle, it really sounds like you live in the deep dark recesses of the South. Very spooky.
