Thursday, January 8th

In honor of the zero degree temperature this morning, Steel Cut Oats for breakfast...
Veggie Chili from Bagel City with a piece of Native Food's Corn Bread for lunch. I added TVP to the Chili before trying it, but it would have been very good without it...
Same dinner as last night...
A piece of Sarah's Cookies & Cream Peppermint Bark for dessert...
Nothing new or unusual tomorrow, but tune in anyway just to make me feel like I matter. Bye for now.

Ugh it is so cold I can't stand it!! You made some nice warm meals though, perfect for a day like today. I definitely need more oatmeal in my life as well as Brussels sprouts! I can't believe you still have bark left, that is so impressive!

The "24 Karot" juice is soooooo good! I really enjoyed it and I'm looking forward to trying another flavor tomorrow! Thanks for the brand recommendation!

Can't say I miss the subzero temperatures that we passed on to the rest of nation. Today's high was 49. I'll be sure to send this warmer front your way immediately! ;)

It is definitely oatmeal, chili, and brussel sprout weather. I bet the kitties are all huddled near the heater in the barn!

This arctic weather is killing me. Oatmeal is perfect for warming up! TVP is tricky- unless it cooks in the liquid and soaks up the flavor for a long while it can be like pieces of sponge. Chili is good winter food too- and since you like it spicey i think that helps to keep you warm.
And if the dinner ain't broke...

I've been drowning myself in endless cups of hot coffee, tea, soup, more tea, and more soup....! This walking around nyc stuff sucks lately.

Your dessert restraint never ceases to amaze me. I've never settled for a "piece" of anything.

Hey Now!!!!!

Sarah, I have a good amount of Bark and many Cookies left. It was FF that started the Suja madness. Now she's hooked on Pasta instead.

Ingrid, the barn kitties have little 'tents' that they snuggle in. The pressure of their paws turn on the bottom pads to become warm, like heating pads. They love them.

Unknown, I agree on working with TVP is a delicate art. I did okay with it yesterday, but i have ruined things in the past with it. Do those NYC skyscrapers block the winds or create wind tunnels?

Abby, if I ran five miles a day, I might eat more than a piece of dessert.
