Saturday, October 15th

Lunch was at Loving Hut. We started with the Summer Rolls $2.50...
I stuck with the tried and true Hawaiian Burger $8.50 plus $1.45 for the Fries.
Gardein Tuscan Breasts and Roasted Cauliflower for dinner.
VaVa recommended picking Candy Cane Joe Joes for those times I just don't know what to have for dessert. These were especially minty. Pretty wild that the best buy date on the box was Mar '09.
I noticed this afternoon that my Saffron came up again this year. I almost missed it! Looks like it's on its last legs though. Wonder what Saffron recipe I can make?
Coming up tomorrow: Hopefully something delicious.

Yay Candy Cane Joe Joe's! Can't wait to get my hands on some of them! Soon. Loving Hut looks yummy as usual and now I'm craving some roasted cauliflower. Yum, great meals!

We're very fancy, SV and I, eating our mock seafood. That burger looks real because it looks a little rare. Cauliflower looks good, too. I just don't roast enough.

Those fake shrimps really do look good! I can buy them at the oriental market but haven't yet. You're like my fake meat guru. I used to be all "I will not eat it in a box, I will not eat it with a fox," but now I have to wipe the drool off my face when I pass the stuff in the grocery store (or, as it were, pile it into the old basket). So...thanks...

And I do love that saffron.

I must've missed the Tuscan version of Gardein, as I do my best to try new varieties. Would you recommend them?

Any pumpkin pie smoothies in the near future? :)

Wow, lucky you - growing saffron! You can charge an arm and a leg for that stuff!

I'm in need of a Loving Hut fix. It might be worth a trip downtown, if I ever find time. I'm hoping the one here offers that burger you get.

Hey Now!!!!

Stacy, well if anyone is going to take over the world, fake shrimps wouldn't be the worst candidate.

VaVa, I did do pretty well yesterday. Hope I can keep it up.

Jenny, roasting is so simple for such great results. I don't do it enough either.

FF, oh if only I could quit my day job! Then I could devote myself to my vegan zine and create a media empire.

Zoa, the best faux meat is by Field Roast and Tofurky (IMHO). The vegan shrimp really don't taste like much of anything. Don't get your hopes up is what I'm saying.

Ingrid, the Tuscan Breasts weren't the best. Pretty decent. I might buy them on sale. Pumpkin Pie Smoothie is now a recent memory!

Michelle2, guess you saw Michelle1 resurfaced. Just when you were thisclose to becoming Michelle!

Blessed Mama, I totally would go into the Saffron industry, but I only have one flower a year.

Jessica, word on the innertubes is that there is tons of great vegan grub in Philly. Gotta get some vegan Steak & Cheeze on your lunch hour!
