Friday, October 14th

Lunch was at La Sandia, an upscale Mexican restaurant at Tysons Corner Mall where I had pre-planned to meet my mother at 11:20. It might not be apparent without the Tortillas, but these were my Vegetable Fajitas $13.95. Our server was most excellent in confirming that the Black Beans and Rice were vegan. Too bad he got semi-shafted on the tip, but that's another story for another day.

Gardein Beefless Burgers and Oven Fries for dinner.
No dessert because I couldn't figure out what to have. For serious.

Ah yes a lunch date would definitely make sense! And let me tell you that lunch looks delicious!! I love when veggie fajitas have veggies other than peppers and onions...especially because I don't like peppers! Dinner looks yummy too, gotta love Gardein. I think I would have a hard time deciding what to choose from 3 dessert trolleys too! Although the Candy Cane Joe Joes...just saying...

11:20, eh? Interesting...
I like to imagine you staring at the dessert trolley and throwing your hands up in exasperation, stomach grumbling - or sweet tooth still nagging. Next time, eat a truffle. I need to know what other flavors are in that box that you passed up for blueberry.

Mmm, the chips in Mexican restaurants are always the best, and you get plenty of food. Looks good! Dinner good too. Yummy food day, but what about the libations?

Maybe for your next dessert quandry, just close your eyes and point.

11:20? You couldn't figure out what to have? Should we be worried about you?

I can't talk; I started to put my frozen burrito in the cabinet instead of the microwave tonight.

Gah, now I want chips and salsa and it is 11:30!

The fajita plate looks really, really good, and filling! They really gave you a lot of food.

I seem to recall your dislike of bell peppers - when combined with fajitas do you enjoy them? Avoid them?

I'm worried. Not knowing what to eat for dessert?! Send to triage! :)

I've never had Mexican food. What you had looks good though.

No dessert!?
If I couldn't decide what treat to have I would probably have to take a little bit of each. But I do that with everything anyway because I'm really indecisive.

Hey Now!!!

VaVa, Candy Cane Joe Joes it is.

FF, I just take whatever candy comes out of the box next and try to match it to the description on the label. It's total anarchy.

Rose, folks do so love those chips & salsa. My mother had a frozen Margarita, but I waited till evening for my Vodka.

Rachel, this was my first time at La Sandia. They really do it up right. Very nice place!

Jenny, typical 'Pregnancy Brain'. Surprised you joined MoFo with that going on.

Stacy, at least Chips & Salsa are easily accessible worldwide.

Molly, I agree. My mother was insisting it was a small portion.

Ingrid, VaVa is the Bell Pepper Hater. I'm the Eggplant and Beets Hater. Yeah, I just didn't feel like sorting through the Candies, Cakes, Cookies and Ice Cream to make a decision. Weird, I know.

Isotope, you've never had Mexican food? Never had a Burrito or Taco? I'm at a loss here. Someone help me. Or her.

No, I haven't had any Mexican food at all.

I'm from England, I stick with the food I know. I have lived in America for a while too and I haven't ever tried waffles, or peanut butter or any of the other typical American food.

That's just how it is.

I recently tried pumpkin though.
