A "Shenwich" (okay, still working on the name) (WF's Roasted Red Pepper Hummus, Baby Spinach, Diced Red Onion and Sliced Tomato on a Toasted Ezekiel English Muffin) for lunch.
A scaldingly hot bowl of Mom's Lentil Soup for dinner.
As well as three Tofu Pups. These were not that great.
The other half of my Chocolate Banana Cheesecake from Vegan Treats via Loving Hut more than made up for the lousy Tofu Pups. Cosmic Joy.
And now, a backyard mystery: Gorgeous flowers were found growing in our back 40 (or four, whichever). I didn't plant them and have no idea what they are. Orange flowers are my favorite. Anyone out there have a clue as what these beauties might be?
Anyone? Anyone? Identify them and I will send you a local vegan treat that cannot be found in whatever area you happen to reside.
Frontera Cabernet Sauvignon/Merlot.

Ah everything looks so yummy as usual! That Shenwich looks so good and the soup as well. Do I even need to talk about the cheesecake?! Jealous as always! And those flowers are gorgeous but sadly I can't id them :(
I can't tell you what they are but they are so cute!
Damn I wish I knew what those flowers were, but it doesn't matter because NY has every vegan treat I can imagine anyway.
Also - Shenwich is the perfect name! Copyright that.
No idea about the flowers. I've never seen any like that, but they're gorgeous!
Sorry about the pups. I would have thought the sauce could have saved it.
That's butterfly weed, Asclepias tuberosa. Pretty, huh?
It's a butterfly weed (Asclepias tuberosa) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Asclepias_tuberosa!
Shenwich....luv it! I agree...very pretty flowers and I see that they are butterfly weeds (thanks to Jssica). :o)
Oh, I see the mystery flower has been solved! They are really darling.
I'm with Maud: Shenwich is a great name!
Hey Now!!!!
VaVa, I don't think weeds are used for wedding bouquets, so you're in the clear on this one.
Dianne, aren't they cute flowers? I have no idea how they wound up in my yard!
FF, you're so lucky to live where they have every vegan treat you can imagine. Can you imagine air-conditioning as well?
VF, isn't your 'name' 'Vegan Flower'? One would think flowers would be your game.
Jessica, had to show off and give the latin name too, eh? Miss Over Achiever.
Brigid, sorry your entry was several hours too late. I appreciate the help though.
Michelle2 & Rose, I don't think 'Shenwich' sounds that appetizing. I'm still working on it.
The "shenwich" is my kind of sandwich! Simple and delicious.. and using all the extra items in the fridge. Maybe I'll start referring to them as "shenwiches?!"
