Tuesday, May 5th

Breakfast was Yves Breakfast Patties with some Roasted Potatoes that I picked as part of a $10 Value Meal from Whole Foods...
also part of the Value Meal was Green Garbanzo Bean Salad (the General Tso's Seitan is still to be enjoyed)...
Cinco De Mayo is a great holiday. No enforced family time, no gift buying, no scaring pups with fireworks.
More of the same tomorrow. Bye for now.

Nicely celebrated! The tacos/tostadas look delicious. Although, I do wonder what Mexicans, living in Mexico, think of us celebrating their battle - that they don't commemorate. Kind of like if Canadians celebrated The Louisiana Purchase, I guess?

I'm baffled by your potato purchase since yours always look so incredible... ! Green garbanzo salad is fancy- those fresh ones are a fairly serious pain in the ass to prep. I'm surprised WF had them as part of a value meal actually.
Those are some great looking tostadas! Who cares why we celebrate cinco de mayo, its a good holiday to have. Too bad it isn't a proper day off.

The line for the taco vendor at the market was insane today- their veg option sounded lame anyhow, so i went with a shiitake okonomiyaki which was actually really good!

Haha, true, Cinco de mayo is pretty laid back as far as holiday obligations go. No margaritas or cervezas para ti?
Lovely looking potatoes - perfect with snausages.
Thank you for the emmys & protein powder! I plan to eat them very soon...

The tostada/taco bowl dinner looked great! And the green garbanzo salad looks interesting. Do they taste similar to regular garbanzos?

I agree, Cinco de Mayo is always a really fun holiday! I made some cauliflower tacos while in Florida as an early celebration and oh man were they good (forgot to take a photo though, wah! I'll be making them again for sure though). Your dinner looks fantastic! Breakfast looks really great too!

Hey Now!!!!

Ingrid, Mr. SV and I just learned (from The Nightly with Larry Wilmore) that Cinco De Mayo is not Mexican independence day. At least we now know (but probably will continue to 'celebrate').

Unknown, the Potatoes were part of the $10 Value Meal as well. They looked better than they tasted. same for the Green Garbanzos. The Okonomiyaki sounds right up my (comfort food) alley, but way too defficult for me to try at home http://vegnews.com/articles/page.do?pageId=2336&catId=11

FF, i thought I had Tequila on hand, but Mr. SV must have drank it, so it was Vodka as usual. The Vega I had bought without realizing it had stevia in it and I think you dont mind it.

VP, the Green Garbanzos were softer and tasted like Peas. Whole Foods usually has them every spring.

Sarah, so you put Cauliflower (cooked?) in a Taco with Salsa and Guac?
