WTF Wednesday

Kashi Indigo Morning with Soy Milk for breakfast...
Zucchini and Chickpea Pancakes with a little Sour Supreme for lunch. These may be easier to make, but I still prefer a more traditional Zucchini Pancake.
This Amazake Rice Shake has been in the fridge for over two years. Finally, this afternoon was the right time to drink it. It has held together pretty well over the years.
CSA Soup for dinner...
Pumpkin Cheesecake from the Common Market for dessert. Hard to believe from my grub that it's a sticky 95 degrees outside.
More like Pumpkin Pie than Cheesecake.
The CSA haul from Potomac Vegetable Farms today was: Beets, Kohlrabi, Blueberries...
Cucumbers...
Kale, an Onion, Eggplant...
and a huge bouquet of Basil...the Mother of All Soups will be made tomorrow...
More food tomorrow, because this is a food blog. That's why there is so much food.

Blueberries and basil, you lucky lucky woman.
Yr fridge will also never cease to astound me. Was the expiration date alright on the drink??
I'm so, so sorry you are at 95 already. It was 75 here and I am ready to plotz.

It's been 95 here for several days, except not too sticky. Us Oregonians are not used to this sort of heat wave.

I really like the curly cucumber and eggplant!

I love cheesecake! And I really want to try real pumpkin pie! Therefore I want your dessert! Exclamation mark!

First, FF's use of the word plotz made me verklempt ;)

Aww that's very sweet of you to offer but I'm trying to cut my collection down! LOL you are an enabler ;) I will send the book out next week!

Is that the same box of cereal from before? That drink lasted two years?! That's intense! I've heard it tastes great and I bet it was nice and cooling on a hot day. OMG your pumpkin cheesecake and my horrific allergies are making me wish for fall!

Gorgeous CSA box! The blueberries look amazing and there is some serious curvature happening on those veggies. That basil is so vibrant and fresh!!

Two years old?!? You're either brave or crazy to drink that now....... Do you eat your soup hot in such hot weather? Its been hot here but dumps rain at unpredicable intervals every day. The csa veggies look amazing, funny curvy cucumbers- sorry about the beets. Kale/beet/cucumber juice with lemon would be worth hauling out the juicer tho. I have been buying too many blueberries for smoothies lately! I love them, my wallet does not. Hope you enjoy the 4th!

Hey Now!!!!

FF, the expiration date on the drink was Sept 2011. Not Sept 11th. I am not a big believer in those 'best by' dates. 75 degrees sounds heavenly.

Nikki, everything is better in Oregon.

Hannah, you've never had Pumpkin Pie?!!! Exclamation Point AND Question Mark!!!

VaVa, what is up with FF plotzing??? She has no business plotzing in my comments. Gah, you send me a book, you will get a book in return. Just how it is. 'Curvature'. That is the word I was thinking of when I saw those Cukes.

Unknown, the Amazake Drink would've been enjoyed more a couple years ago when it was less 'suspect', but it still hit the spot. The Soup is eaten piping hot. More craziness, I know. I can possibly do the Cucumber Juice thing, but the Beets are destined for the Pups and the Kale is destined for the Soup. Fresh seasonal Blueberries are too expensive to put in a Smoothie!

I'm from Australia. We don't do sweet pies, as a rule, and 99% of the time we don't do pumpkin as a sweet thing either. It's all rosated pumpkin and pumpkin soup, and meat pies, down under. Very occasionally a pumpkin scone, which is more what you think of as a biscuit, whereas to us a biscuit is a cookie. And that's just the start of it all ;)
