Thursday, July 4th

This delicious Tofu Scramble was enjoyed by yours truly at Le Pain Quotidien this morning. They really did it up right.
A lot of places were closed today for the holiday, fortunately,  Mr. Noodle and Rice was open...
My Avocado Sushi (served on the same platter as Mr. SVegetarian's Cucumber Sushi) was excellent...
as was my Teriyaki Aged Tofu. So glad the other restaurants we first attempted were closed, because this was a perfect lunch for the hot weather....
Speaking of the holiday, a traditional July 4th feast for dinner: Field Roast Frankfurters with Potato Salad.
I still prefer Sweet Relish in my Potato Salad, but the Dill Thing is good as well.
WF's Apple Pie for dessert...
Buttercup was outside all day. She did not seem to mind the heat...
and actually posed for lots of pics. Too many to post...
A Cabbage Butterfly was very busy on the Russian Sage...
WFH grub tomorrow.

Awww how sweet is Buttercup!! Both pics are adorable but I'm really loving the second one!

Great looking tofu scramble and that crusty bread looks so delicious. I'm glad that lunch worked out so well for you! the rolls look great and so does the tofu. Oh man the apple pie looks perfect. Definitely a great dessert for the fourth! :)

The only liquor store in Cedar City is closed for the 4th, and my dreams of cider or wine have been dashed. More boring Blue Moon for me.

I do like the look of that scramble.

That second pic of buttercup is too cute for words!! She looks really happy.
Those frenchy LPQ people are closet vegans i swear...... Lunch looks perfect for a hot day- i often get a similar tofu dish from this place that has chilled homemade tofu with a mushroomy soy sauce and crispy seaweed bits.
Very "american" dinner! Potato salad is such a summer classic

Fantastic eats for the fourth! I've never had Teriyaki Aged Tofu, how is it?

I saw that Field Roast Franks were on sale for 50 cents less, perhaps I'll pick some up. Also, I noticed that Gardein is carrying breakfast sandwiches and sliders. Thoughts?

Relish is required in potato salad.

Buttercup is adorable! And a great model, too. :)

Buttercup is beautiful. I wish I could let Haxan out. Do you worry about yr outdoor cats, though?
Ain't nothing more American than apple pie and potato salad. You've done yr country proud.

Hey Now!!!

VaVa, thank you for noticing how patriotic my dessert was.

RVs, hope Field Roast Frankfurters become the signature dish for the 4th.

Hannah, one must always have a stash of alcohol in preparation for days like yesterday.

Unknown, I so want to go back to LPQ and try the non-breakfast items.

GFHTummy, LPQ probably even has things you can eat. Saw a Lentil and Avocado Salad on the menu that sounded great.

Ingrid, the Tofu dish was very good, but I really didn't know what I'd ordered till I saw it. I haven't seen the Gardein Breakfast Sandwiches. I'd go for it.

FF, Buttercup pushes her way out of the barn. I do worry about it and no other cats get out. Contrary to the blog, I'm against cats being outside, but she was out and it's easier to get a critter pic in natural light.
