Sunday, July 7th

From European refinement to Hippie Dippy, breakfast at Mellow Moods was a far cry from Le Pain Quotidien. My Tempeh Avocado Reuben with Potato Salad was just so so...
as everything paled in comparison to meeting the restaurant cat, Tigger. Seven cats at home doesn't come close to satisfying my kitty needs, I'm still thrilled when the opportunity to pet a new feline presents itself. Tigger was not as thrilled to meet me, but anyway...
After breakfast, we strolled through the Shepherdstown Farmers Market...
Mr. SVegetarian overheard someone say, "There is nothing hotter than a woman holding a Moth." Sure enough, a woman was holding an Imperial Moth in one hand and the leash to her dog in the other. That is one massive Moth.
Lunch was at Cantina D'Italia. The Side Salad comes with the entree...
which for me was Pasta Primavera.
CSA Soup for dinner...
No dessert tonight, at least there is a Cat and a Moth to ogle...

Holy moly, that is one huge moth! Did you find any worthy purchases while at the Farmer's Market?

The Pasta Primavera looks pretty fantastic.

Tigger does seem a little perturbed, ha ha!

Too bad the sandwich wasn't that great, it looks good! I'm sure the pasta primavera made up for it though, it looks delicious!!

Perturbed or not, Tigger is adorable! Can't get behind that moth though. Just like cicadas, not a fan. I guess I'll never be as hot as the girl at the farmer's market, ha!

Gratuitous sprouts are a sure sign of hippie food.... Too bad it didn't live up to expectations, the avocado addition sounds like a good idea.
The kitty does look stand-off-ish there- i constantly stop people walking dogs to pet them and get kitty cuddles from the cat rescue charity i help, no such thing as too much kitty love!
Does the csa soup get better with age? I love a glob of pesto in my veg soups to change up leftovers.

The interwebs ate the comment i left on your post yesterday! :/ nothing of note, just saying i finally tried the chia pudding at LPQ and it was awesome

That IS a huge moth! So cool looking! Tigger is great too. So many stripes.
Too bad about the Reuben - maybe we shouldn't mess with a good thing. Nothing looks like it can measure up to the Common market Reuben anyway.
Nice amount of veggies in the pasta dish. That's always nice.

I'm going to echo others in stating how large that moth is. Wow!

Too bad about breakfast being meh, but that pasta looks like it made up for it. Love Tigger!

Hey Now!!!!

Ingrid, there were a lot of gorgeous Cherries, Berries and Peaches at the Farmers Market, but, alas, I didn't buy a thing. I regret it.

VaVa, one good thing about your living in a semi-urban area -- less chance of encountering exotic insects.

Unknown, that's one thing about NYC I don't like: the folks that tie up their dogs outside of cafes/stores etc. How do they do that? Anyway, I always pet those pups. The soup does get better with age, but I think I'm getting souped-out. I wish I ate at LPQ enough to try new things.

FF, thanks for the Reuben advice. I resolve to be grateful for having one great vegan Reuben in my life. Why get greedy?

RVs, you would've been able to get much better pics of Tigger.

Holy giant moth-ra! We get moths in our house all the time, to the point where the kids know how to trap and release them. But I would freak out if that thing flew in my kitchen!
