Saturday, July 13th

Lunch was with Mom at sandwich and salad place, Jetties. I got 'The Sconset' $8.49 Hummus, Sprouts, Tomato, Carrots, Cucumber and Avocado on Pumpernickel....
The restaurant was chosen because it is en route to the Kennedy Center. My Mother had bought us tickets for a matinee of the musical Book Of Mormon. For those who have never been to D.C., below is a view of Georgetown from the terrace of the KC overlooking the Potomac River...
Inside the Opera House is this bust of JFK. No pics were allowed of the play. The musical was awesome, deserved the standing ovation, hope everyone gets a chance to see it.
In order to use up the CSA Onions and a few Zucchini, while I was away this afternoon, Mr. SVegetarian made a big pot of Chili. It was a treat to have the Chili on Boca Burgers with Oven Fries for dinner...
Blessed Mama Peanut Butter and Chocolate Cookie for dessert.
Totally different grub tomorrow.

Aaaaaah I'm so envious! I keep missing out on The Book of Mormon by a few weeks in cities! I even could've seen it for free in Toronto if I'd left a week later. Argh!

Chilli on boca sounds goooood but.

I can't deal with the perfectly shot cookie for dessert. I want to eat it right now.

I love pictures from your day, and Georgetown is really beautiful! It sounds like a fantastic show; I've heard only good things about it.

Sounds like a great day! I'm glad you enjoyed the musical- I remember you mentioning it a few months ago.

That sandwich is really thick and looks delicious! Nothing like avocado, hummus & veggies together.

Damn, that sandwich looks amazing!! Tons of veggies, hummus, avocado and pumpnickel is definitely a winner to me! How nice of Mr. SVegetarian to make a yummy pot of chili!

So glad you enjoyed the show! What a gorgeous view of Georgetown! It's such a nice area over there, I was there once to visit a friend who went there many years ago and really liked the area :) Pretty view of the Potomac.

Hey Now!!!!

Hannah, better to jet set around the globe. The play will probably still be being performed once you settle down. Or there will be the movie by then.

Ingrid, funny how some people think the DC area is beautiful. I wish I could move someplace else to see it through new eyes.

RVs, it took many months for the day of the matinee to arrive. Hard to believe it's finally past.

VaVa, I wasn't sure how many of my readers had already been to the area. I've been to Nassau Colliseum, but that is it for my Long Island travels.

Unknown, having someone (other than my mother) cook me dinner when I come home after a hard day is my fantasy as well. Mr. SV has his signature Chili and Spaghetti, so I am appreciative when he makes those.
