WTF Monday

Kashi Stawberry Fields with Flaxseed Milk for breakfast. This was my first time eating a cereal where the fruit is re hydrated by the milk (growing up, I was never into Frankenberry or Cap'n Crunch Berries, Golden Grahams was my cereal of choice). Very unusual to have dried fruit become fresh like this.
Spinach, Broccoli & Mushroom Quiche from Roots for lunch. Tasted like the real thing. Fantastic.
The ingredients list in case anyone wants to recreate it.
The last serving of Field Roast En Croute for dinner.
A Chocolate Chip Cookie from Roots for dessert. I'll save the ingredients list of these Cookies to pad future posts.
Tomorrow, breakfast will be muffin-shaped. Lunch will be from WF's, so, if I'm lucky, there may be a couple pieces of triangular grub.

See now you make me look like I liar via yesterday's post, because I would totally hit frosting if it's peanut butter frosting.

Um, "a liar", not "I liar".

Golden Grahams was my cereal of choice when I was a kid, too. I think I'd love that Kashi- rehydrated strawberries sound great to me!

I've only had vegan quiche, but when I did have it I loved it. Can't wait to have it again someday!

Golden Grahams were definitely my cereal of choice too :) The strawberries sound interesting, did they really taste like fresh strawberries?

OMG that quiche!! I wouldn't even begin to know how to recreate that but it looks amazing! I've had vegan quiche a few times and was underwhelmed, but I can tell just by looking at yours that it looks really close to the real thing. I love the veggie combo in there too. Yum!

Great looking cookie!

Well, apparently I am the odd one out as I did not eat Golden Grahams in my youth. I did love Crispix and Rice Crispies. I think I tried Cap'n Crunch, but usually didn't have sugary stuff around. In related news I picked up another box of the Oat Flakes and Bluerries cereal. Good stuff.

Farewell, Field Roast En Croute - see you in October.

I bought that cereal once and proceeded to eat all the fruity bits dry first.... My childhood was deprived of interesting cereal! Cheerios, grape nuts, rice krispies, and oatmeal with a cinnamon suagr dust. Currently i adore puffins, but always dry. And never with bananas.
Roots really came thru for you recently! That quiche is very authentic looking- who knew it had so many ingredients??
(((Moment of silence for the end of the field roast)))))
You had a good run together while it lasted.

I love vegan quiche, and I would be stoked to find it all packaged up ready for me to eat.

I love the pic of your dog with the Christmas slipper many posts back.

Hey Now!!!!

Hannah, no worries, I totally understand that the frosting is a separate entity from the cake. This PB frosting was good enough to be eaten sans cake anyway.

Molly, and here I always felt alone in my Golden Grahams devotion while growing up. Believe me, real Quiche is super delicious. Eggs, Cheese, Spinach, Pastry Crust. Hard to go wrong with that combination.

VaVa, that was the weird thing about this cereal: the Strawberries looked and tasted fresh once the milk was added. Never experienced any food do that when combined with cold liquid.

Ingrid, I couldn't find the Oat Flakes with Blueberries. Strawberry Fields was the closest thing I could find to it. Never did Crispix, that just seemed like a Chex rip off to me. Thanks for your Field Roast sympathy.

Unknown, that does sound like a dull (though still delicious because all cereal is) list of cereals growing up. Dry Puffins?! They seem very dry to me even when wet. Thanks for your condolences on the Field Roast. I held onto it as long as I could.

Jenny, thanks! Seems like it would be easier to come by here every day than scroll through months of posts, but just glad you came by today. Hope this is a sign that a VASF post is coming soon.
