Saturday, April 13th

Brunch was at The Bungalow Lakehouse. I went with the Tapenades --> Olive $3, Black Bean $2, Eggplant $2 and Chickpea $2.
and split some Fries $5 with Mr. SVegetarian
Flying Dog Raging Bitch calmed my nerves from the huge sports-filled flat screens and blaring 70's rock music. Too bad they have all that going on cuz the food was good. The highlight of the lunch (and my day) was watching a 5-year-old boy dancing to Aerosmith's "Dude Looks Like A Lady".
Morningstar Vegan Grillers and Daiya for dinner.
My last Chocolate Chip Cookie from Roots dessert.
More of the same tomorrow.

I have a hard time with that kind of atmosphere in restaurants, too. Such a great name that beer has, and how appropriate for the situation! lol

I've been researching restaurants in the areas we're stopping, so hopefully a PF Chang's shows up in one. One of our destinations has 4 vegan restaurants! Can't wait. :)

P.S. Those fries made my mouth start watering. Such perfection!

Oooohhh, what a great meal of dipping! I love that kind of mix and match- those fries look sooooo good. The mini cart is hysterical.
Restaurant chaos is so stressful , but i am too familiar with it. Adult beverages always help/aggrevate the situation ;) i love dancing kids! My six year old nephew dances like a rock star- its better than any of those dancing tv shows for entertainment value.
Good lookin' cookie there too. I wonder about the rest of your gorgeous cake you made.... Maybe the Mr helped you out.

Oh so deeply hyperventilating over the plethora of tapenades. Tapenades my loves! Please say you dipped the chips into them. Aaaaaah yes.

Oooooh yum!! The restaurant food looks great! I'd skip the olive but the other tapenades sound perfect! The basket of fries looks so pretty and perfect and that beer has the best name! Ha! I have a tough time in that kind of atmosphere. I'm a bit of a homebody so I prefer to be home anyway, but when I do go out I prefer mellow to craziness!

Your dinner looks really great too! The melted Daiya is perfection :)

Re: the tooth - there's no sensitivity or pain in that sense, the pain is from the procedure itself I think. They did the whole thing in one visit as opposed to two or three visits like they normally would so I think perhaps that's what the problem was? It's getting better but still plenty painful. Boo!

The brunch tapenade platter is very pretty, but the fries look to die for! Too bad the sound atmosphere was so oppressive.

That pint is truly majestic. I'm thirsty!

Five-year-olds dancing to Aerosmith...what next? Sounds like fun.

Beautiful and delicious sounding spread at lunch. Were you there to appease Mr. while he viewed some sporting event?

We are fast approaching grillers and Daiya season full force. I know Spring just started, but I'm ready for Summer (break).

Hey Now!!!!

Molly, if you have another local option to eat at besides PF Changs, I would choose that. PF Changs will always be there. Four vegan restaurants...sounds like...Louisville? Cedar Rapids? Burlington? The Fries tasted as great as they looked, so that was nice.

Unknown, 'the cake' is taking up the bottom shelf in the basement fridge. No more slices have been taken out of it since day one. Other desserts have pre-empted it, but it has not been forgotten.

Hannah, Tapenades rule!!!! (Alas, there was no dipping, just spreading this time).

VaVa, the Olive Tapenade was too salty to eat, and you know how much I love Olives. The other three dips were good though. I had a root canal as a teen and there was no pain. Same with my wisdom teeth extraction, so maybe I'm just the weird one. I do hope you're feeling better or at least enjoying the pain meds.

Miss Rachel, they were great Fries. Not worth dealing with the sensory overload to get at them again.

Rose, your ears must've been ringing or your nose tickling cuz I've been thinking about you. So glad you stopped by. Hope all is well with you.

Ingrid, hard to believe, but I picked the lunch spot based on the inviting website. Little did I know, but if you're on the restaurant side, all you see are ugly apartment buildings across from 'the lake'. The Grillers and Daiya are year-round for me.
