Falls Church Feasting

Lunch was at Clare and Dons Beach Shack . Being at the beach to me means Painkillers $7 each.

For the appetizer, I ate all but three of these Breaded and Deep-Fried Dill Pickle Chips $4

Then I moved onto a Beacharito $12 stuffed with Brown Rice and Black Beans. Spectacular.

Mr SV had the Cluckless Tacos $9.50.

Carryout from Loving Hut for dinner. My Lemongrass Soy Protein.

Their dessert case was stocked from Vegan Treats. Top left -- Death by Chocolate, Coconut Cake, Lemon Cheesecake, Raspberry Cheesecake. Bottom left -- Tiramisu? Custard filled Donuts, Oreo Cake, a Peanut Butter Bomb that is blocked, Whoopie Pies and more Donuts. Decisions! Decisions!

Of all these delights, I went with a slice of the Coconut Cake $5. Tonight I only ate about $1.75 of it. Fabulousness.

I'm Going To Sleep After This

Lunch was Al Fresco at the Old Angler's Inn where I enjoyed an Artichoke, Tomato and Kalamata Olive Salad $13. Per my request, the meat that usually comes with this entree was left off (along with the Sun-Dried Tomatoes that I didn't want left off). The Garlic Toast went home to the chickens.
To make up for everything left off my Salad, I ate a Tofurky Kielbasa with Hot & Sweet Mustard when I got home
A steaming hot bowl of Mom's Lentil Soup for dinner.
Like a blissful dream, a Magical Coconut Cookie Bar for dessert.

A Bomdiggity Day

My Burrito Bowl from Chipotle was exceptionally delicious today. I don't know why.
Boca Chick'n Patties and Steamed Broccoli Florets for dinner. I could probably eat fifty of these Patties in a sitting.
Coconut Bliss Chocolate Hazelnut Fudge for dessert. Mind-blowingly Chocolatey.

Tasted pretty damn good.Mr. SV brought carryout from Sunflower-'Curry Supreme' (Chunks of Soy Protein served with Broccoli, Potatoes, Mushrooms, one Carrot chunk and Green Peas in a special (unusually spicy) Japanese Curry Sauce).
A Magical Coconut Cookie Bar for dessert. Dessert should always be magical or blissful. Frontera Shiraz.

Hut Grub

Loving Hut "Crispy Burger & Fries" $6.95 for lunch. They're totally rocking the American fast food thing with Lettuce, Tomato, Onions, Pickles, Cheese & Mustard. A massive portion of Ketchup on the side.
"Broken Rice with Shredded Soy Protein & Quiche" $6.95 for dinner. Broken Rice, Shredded Soy Protein, Quiche, Tomatoes, Cucumber, Salad Aulacese (Vietnamese) Saurkraut and Sea Sauces. I have no clue what makes this Rice "Broken". I really wanted the Rice Crepes but they took it off the menu, so I hastily ordered this instead.
Coconut Bliss Cherry Amaretto Ice Cream for dessert. The other day, Kiley, from Coconut Bliss, left a comment on da blog. We're now BFFs! Can you imagine owning your own Coconut Ice Cream Company???? Neither can I!!!!

Lentils & Tempeh & What Not

Lunch was more Mujdarrah $6.95 from Olive Express.
All though the Mujdarrah is a massive portion, I had to at least try their Lentil Soup $2.50. A most righteous version of Lentil Soup it is. Comes w/Pita Chips!
Chesapeake Tempeh Cakes with Roasted Asparagus and Mr SV's Artichoke Pasta Salad for dinner.
No dessert as of posting time.

Butler's Soy Curls with Roasted Asparagus and Baked Sweet Potato for dinner.

Earth Day Indigestion

Some TJ's Whole Wheat Toast for breakfast gave me acid indigestion all day, so lunch was not doable. Weird. Just for the blog, I made myself some Boca Burgers & Tots for dinner. Then I felt better.
Coconut Bliss Cherry Amaretto Ice Cream (found some on sale for $4/pint!) for dessert.

Pretty Awesome Food Day

Lunch was from Olive Express. They've been open five months, but I just heard about them a week ago. I ordered Mjudarra - Rice & Lentils served with a little Side Salad $6.95. In the event my entree wasn't enough (God forbid!), I also got an appetizer of Hummus w/Pita $4.00. The Mjudarra & Salad more than enough, it was fantastic, now I have lots of Hummus to enjoy at home.
Boca Chick'n Patties and Brussel Sprouts for dinner.

Hard to believe that this is a Papaya Smoothie. Guess the Banana, Date & Chia Seeds changed the hue.
TJ's Chickenless Chicken on a WF's Pretzel Roll for lunch.
Cowvin Cookie from Sticky Fingers Bakery (Vanilla Cream Filled Oatmeal Sandwich Cookie).

Vegan Sensations

Aaahhhh!!!! Chipotle was like a day at the beach after yesterday's pretentiousness fest. $6.41 (includes tax) for a big bowl of easily identifiable vegan goodness and nobody looking down their noses at me.
Gardein Scallopini with Broccolini & Morels for dinner. After rolling in Vegenaisse & Panko, the Morels cooked down to barely visible little nubbins. They can sort of be seen in the middle of the plate. Tiny but tasty!
Has Cincinnati denizen Veggie Cookie shuttled off this mortal coil? Or just quit blogging? Ya got me. However, we now have Cookie the Cincinnati Penguin to fill the void.

I Can't Believe I Ate The Whole Thing

Lunch was at Willow. This was my Tempura Fried Vegetables Appetizer ($8.5) Zucchini, Mushrooms, Fennel & Onion with Lime & Ginger Vinaigrette. Not very Tempura-like, just plain fried, do not recommend.
Saffron Pappardelle with a Mushroom Reduction ($16.5) (made vegan for me) was better than the appetizer.
After all the excess at lunch, dinner was a simple bowl of Reeks of Healthiness Soup. We found three more Morels today, but we'll have to wait till tomorrow to enjoy them.
Still able to pack in a few Newman's Own Hermits for dessert.

All Local All Day

Yesterday's torrential downpour brought up Morels in our front yard! Major score! They're soaking overnight, so we'll fry them up tomorrow.
We celebrated our fungal bounty with lunch at Haute Dogs & Fries. I enjoyed two Smart Dogs with Onions & Ketchup. The Fries looked deceptively over cooked, but were light and fresh as always.

Their Baked Beans are my favorite.
A thick and hearty bowl of Mom's Lentil Soup.
Cowvin Cookie from Sticky Fingers Bakery (Vanilla Cream Filled Oatmeal Sandwich Cookie).
