Monday, July 18th

The hot meals were already out at Whole Foods and the girl was attaching labels identifying everything when I arrived. She labeled the brown concoction below as 'vegan' so I informed her that, no, that sign is incorrect, it is not vegan. 'It is vegan!' she insisted. She seemed pretty smart, much smarter than me, so I went with it. And it was certainly fantastic. Very much like Seitan Stroganoff. So fantastic was this dish, in fact, that I doubt I'll ever see it again (whatever it was).
My personal experience: WF's either has too many great things, or nothing great at all. Today it was the former situation. The Salad/Udon Noodle Mix was on the Salad Bar and I had secretly sworn that I would load up on it if they ever had it again. Ergo double lunch. Double greatness.
Yves Salami Sandwich and Potato Salad for dinner.
Half of a Sticky Fingers Chocolate Chip Cookie for dessert. Not many chips, but still extremely satisfying. (It's hard to tell from the pic, but it's a very large cookie).
On the Rum.

Sunday, July 17th

Lunch was at Cafe Indigo where we both enoyed a cup of Carrot Soup with Tangerine Oil & Flowers $5 Exquisite!
I had 'The Freshest Mess of Planet Earth' - diversified Greens tossed in a 'Virginia Vinegar Works Sweet Petit Lemonade Vinaigrette' with local Wildflower Pollen and Smoked Sunflower Seeds $6. Really flavorful combination of bitter greens, cheesy pollen, lemony dressing and smokey seeds. Wish I could eat like this every day, but, what are ya gonna do?
I'm posting Mr. SV's Fruit Salad $3 because of the wineberries . This is what I call major locavority. Wineberries are currently growing wild in Virginia.
Shenwich for dinner (WF's Original Hummus, Baby Spinach, Diced Red Onion and Sliced Tomato on a Toasted Ezekiel English Muffin).
Being an Old Rummy tonight.

Saturday, July 16th

Lunch was at Panorama at the Peak where I started with a Pomegranate Martini $9.99
Fried Green Tomato Sandwich $11.99 came with Pasta Salad. Our server was very diligent in ensuring our grub was vegan. So kudos for that.
Tofu Scramble with Hash Brown and half a Tofurky Sausage for dinner.
I kept the Pomegranate theme going through the evening.
Still on the rum -- Mount Gay to be precise.

Friday, July 15th

Lunch was the Roasted Vegetable Salad - Roasted Artichoke Hearts, Asparagus, Peppers, Corn and Sun-Dried Tomatoes on Romaine lettuce with Avocados. Fat-Free Balsamic Vinaigrette subbed for Dijon $13.25 from California Pizza Kitchen. My CPK food pics never turn out, but on the plus side, the Roasted Artichokes were especially delicious.

Okara Burgers and Potato Salad for dinner.
On the Rum tonight.

Thursday, July 14th

Lunch was the Veggie Burger with Lettuce, Tomato, Guac, Pickles, Onions etc from Cheeburger Cheeburger. Dig that Olive on top!
A bowl of Mom's Navy Bean Soup for dinner.
Still on the Vodka.

WTF Wednesday

A lousy mishmash of Capellini with Faux Meat from WF's for lunch. Usually they do well with these weird combos, but this was too vinagery. I ate it all anyway.
Mr. SV brought home carryout for dinner from Sunflower-'Curry Supreme' (Chunks of Soy Protein served with Broccoli, Potatoes, Mushrooms, Carrots and Green Peas in a special Japanese Curry Sauce). The chopsticks have been re-used many times, not just from lunch.
Half of a Sticky Fingers Chocolate Chip Cookie for dessert.
No Cocktail/Pup pics tonight. Jessica didn't sound like she was into them and I am very sensitive to my readers feelings.

Tuesday, July 12th

Basmati Rice & Chickpeas $6.95 from Olive Express for lunch.
WF's Veggie Burger with Country Bob's and Zucchini Pancakes with Sour Supreme for dinner.
WF's Blueberry Pie for dessert.
More boring old Stoli & Lemonade.
Soft food day all day. All good.

Monday, July 11th

A bunch of delicious stuff (like Tofu, Quinoa, Mushrooms, Asparagus) off WF's Salad Bar today. At top are some tiny Black Beans. Not lentils. Anyone recognize them?
Tofurky Kielbasa on Pretzel Bread with Potato Salad for dinner.
There are so many Pretzel Baguette ingredients I'm no longer sure what I'm seeing. Verification that it's vegan would be appreciated (or, if you prefer, work on identifying the itty-bitty Black Beans I had at lunch).
Half of a Sticky Fingers Chocolate Chip Cookie for dessert. Two pups were quite interested in posing for this pic (or eating my dessert).
It may not look it, but this cookie was pretty incredible -- rich and sugary.
Stoli and Lemonade (and a gorgeous girl) to help with the unwinding process.
So that was my day in food. Not too shabby.

Sunday, July 10th

Yves Bologna Sandwich and Potato Salad for lunch again.
Boca Chick'n Patties and Salad for dinner.
Chocolate Banana Cheesecake from Vegan Treats via Loving Hut. Mr. SV took a few bites before I got to it.
More Stoli and Orange Soda -- while this drink reminds somebody of their high school years, it helps me not only forget high school as well as all the years up to now.
Pretty:
Howzat for an upbeat post?

Saturday, July 9th

Yves Bologna Sandwich and Potato Salad for lunch.
Okara Burgers and Tater Babies w/Elise's Fry Sauce for dinner.
I ran out of lemonade, but managed to make do with some Orange Steaz.
Wasn't as great as with the Blueberry Vodka and Lemonade, but did the trick.
WF's Blueberry Pie with Almond Dream Vanilla Ice Cream for dessert.
I'm still on that living to eat jag.

Friday, July 8th

Lunch was Groupon-induced from Gilly's 'Steve's Hummus Sub' $6.99 Roasted Red Pepper Hummus, Mixed Greek Olives, Brocco Sprouts and Cucumbers on a Toasted Wheat Baguette.
Field Roast Meatloaf with Heinz-57 and Zucchini Pancakes with Sour Supreme for dinner.
My drink model went on strike tonight, but in case you came here just to see her -- behold:
and I still enjoyed myself without her gorgeous self posing next to my cocktail.

I may no longer need to think of a post title, but now I'm agonizing over a post summation. Tonight, I got nuthin.

Thursday, July 7th

Hummus wrapped with Romaine, Roma Tomatoes, Cucumbers, Kalamata Olives, Green Peppers, Red Onion and Vinaigrette from Cafesano for lunch. Roasted Red Pepper Hummus on the side.
Boca Chick'n Patties and Salad for dinner.
WF's Blueberry Pie for dessert.
Blueberry Drops with SPARKLING Lemonade! It just keeps getting better and better!
Can't wait to eat more good grub tomorrow.
