Working On Setting Up The New Blog

Sarah said to call it 'Vegan In The VI' so I set up that name on blogspot, but that's about it. Here is how we got the crew down to St. Thomas yesterday. A Sprinter took everyone to the Leesburg Airport. The driver was so impressed with his stacking skills, he took a photo as well...

there was all you can use tissue for the 20 minute ride to the airport (that is a tissue box under the little screen)...
We took a Citation Excel for the 3 1/2 hour flight..
The Pups were out of their crates for the duration, but behaved beautifully. Teddy was desperately wanting to get at the chickens in their crates at first...
but eventually calmed down to enjoy the view...
Molly was a dream...
and Poley crashed (no pun intended) in the aisle the whole way...
Everyone made it down alive and well, but the barn cats will probably never trust me again. The Chickens have been residing under the house...
the Japanese Bantam went instantly feral and it now uncatachable...
more Chicken pics...
a Bantam Cochin on the stairs...and done with Chicken pics...
one of the unexpected pleasant surprises was all the Hermit Crabs on the property (I just saw it for the first time yesterday). They are constantly rustling around. The one below was about as big as a 50 cent piece, but others are as big as Grapefruit...
another fortunate aspect of being here as that all the Flamboyant Trees are currently in bloom...
they are a vibrant red/orange color. I plan to try to grow some in my yard from dried seed pods...
I have eaten some great vegan grub as well, but am proud of myself for not posting on it here....
I will save it for my Vegan In The VI blog once I get that up and running. Bye for now....

I am so goddamned impressed with you right now! What an amazing accomplishment just getting everyone there...!! LOVE all the animal pics :))
that flowering tree (bush?) is such an intense color... And the view of the water in the background just looks so tranquil. Ooh- i bet you will find some fabulous tropical fruit!
Is it hot and humid? Are you going to live in tropical print muumuus now??

Wow! Absolutely amazing!!! It sounds like a great journey, especially for the canines. The felines will come around, but they'll hold a grudge. ;). Is your property fenced in, that everyone may roam (certainly the chickens are! Ha ha!). I'm so excited for your adventures, and I hope you show us some glorious beaches!!

Wow! This must have been so much planning!! When did you even go down to visit??
Cute lil hermit crabs. Do the barn cats have a replacement barn?
Very very excited to see the food. I know nothing about St. Thomas but I imagine you eating a lot of Don & Whoever's Beach Shack grub.
Got the package today, thank you! Have you been talking to my mother, or how did you know I needed moisturizing gloves?

Wow, the animal crate stacking skills are pretty amazing. The barn cats probably will have trust issues for quite awhile. That's what I;m anticipating. The trees and everything are so beautiful! You made a much bigger move than I am making, so I feel a little safer. A huge congratulations on the successful move!

Haha well it was just a suggestion but I'm glad you liked it(?). It certainly seems like quite an adventure to get there but I'm so glad that everyone got there safe and sound. The crate stacking was indeed impressive and I'm melting over all of the critter pics. So freaking adorable! It looks like you have really beautiful property. I'm still a little in shock that you move to the islands but I'm so excited for you and I hope that once you get settled that you love it and are happy there. And I'll need your new address at some point :) I'm with Ingrid, I'm so excited to read about all of your adventures.

Hey Now!!!!

Unknown, I dont know if what I pulled off was 'impressive' or 'mental'. Just didnt want to rot away the rest of my life in Virginia. Wouldnt you know we have met multiple folks here who LOVE Virginia. It is hot here but hasnt been humid fortunately. I will be in over-sized t-shirts. although it appears that modesty no longer exists apparently. Everyone lets it all hang out.

Ingrid, the yard is not fenced and is in fact perched on a ridiculously perilous cliff. The Pups aint going nowhere off the deck without a leash.

FF, i saw the house on Realtor.Com but never saw it for real till Sunday. I think I would have still bought it, but it is at the base of an extraordinarily steep hill and as I said above, one could drop off the back yard into an abyss and die. The barn cats are in the guest bedroom, there is no barn. Glad you got the package. I knew your little hands were always cracked in winter and I dont anticioate needing moisturizer ever again.

VP, thanks. Today was less emotionally draining so maybe things will work out here. Best of luck with your move!

Sarah, Mr. SV said to tell you he really liked your blog name suggestion. Maybe tomorrow I will get the new one up and running.
