Friday, May 2nd

I was super dehydrated after last nights 'dessert', but was too lazy to make a Smoothie, so Banana with PB & Company Cinnamon Raisin PB on a Rudi's English Muffin for breakfast....
Lunch was at Mi Cocina, where Mom & I split some Guac $6.95 to start. Although served in a unique manner, La Sandia's Guac is more to my taste....
My Margarita $8 was big, but I didn't really catch a buzz. Weird story: After our meal, I temporarily 'lost' my credit card when it somehow dropped into my shoe under the table. I found the credit card once I got in my car to leave. So maybe I was a little buzzed....
'Quinceañera Salad' $10.95 Chopped Romaine Hearts, Tomato, Avocado, Cucumber, Pineapple and Mango with Chile-Lime Vinaigrette and Almonds. Nothing on the menu to indicate Queso Fresco is included, but, lucky me, they sprinkled some on anyway....
Boca Burgers and Oven Fries for dinner. It may look like a normal photo to you, but in reality, the Pickles came from a jar I broke this afternoon. Splashed Pickles and Brine all over the refrigerator and floor as well as on my feet and legs. My feet and legs are still sticky hours later....
Touring around the yard today. Wisteria. Planted by the woman who lived in our home before us. She planted some good stuff...
Future Blueberries. A little background on this photo, I was being aggressively menaced by two Bees while photographing these Bushes. Getting stung really would have sucked....
Future Grapes. (Anticipating an FF question) Yes, I grow Grapes. No, I don't eat them. Sometimes I cut the bunches down to feed to the Chickens. Other times, I just leave the fruit hanging out for whatever wildlife comes in the night...
A kitchen window shot of an Indigo Bunting with a mouthful of Sunflower Seeds. Times like these I wish I had a telephoto lens....
Bye for now.

Oh no!!! You really are not having luck when you go out with your mom!! At least the giant margarita was there to numb the pain of the completely unnecessary cheese. How strange that your credit card ended up in your shoe but at least it left the restaurant with you!

That cinnamon raisin pb is seriously so good. That really sucks about the pickle jar too. :( I bet you could have used another giant margarita after that.

Really pretty plant pics! Do you not eat the blueberries either? That would be so sad.

Hahah, there is a lot going on with yr feet today - pickle juice, the credit card... I think that's all good luck somehow, somewhere.
Did the dogs lap it up?
OK so you are just raising more questions!! I thought blueberries only grew in bogs! my aunt's father lives on a blueberry farm in massachusetts and there's a huge amount of them. I didn't think they grew down south too. Very cool though.
Couldn't you turn the grapes into wine?

That cinnamon raisin pb is good stuff.
Maybe the margarita is cheap cuz its booze free....and i swear mexican restaurants will put cheese or sour cream on damned near anything. I don't understand how your cc landed in your shoe but at least you found it!
Those are some gorgeous plants around you- i love wisteria.

This trip with my parents here we are going to a matinee at the ballet, then i'm sending them on a not veg friendly eating and walking tour of queens, we will have to find mom matzo ball soup, and there's a tasting event at astor center i'll take dad to. And that's just the tip of the iceburg....

So, a friend of mine has put her house on Airbnb. Which makes me think, if we all swapped houses for a day - we could try all of the food in each other's fridges and pantry. Someone would play with your animals, another would pet Haxan or Tyler or Remy. Ha!

Lovely photos of the yard; I imagine it to be especially beautiful this time of year! I think the Indigo Bunting turned out well!

Hey Now!!!!

Sarah, yes, I put the Credit Card in my lap for some reason and it fell under the table into my shoe (which I had taken off). Really really weird. I love Cinnamon Raisin PB. I was wondering if it was Friday the 13th after breaking the Pickle Jar. I pick the Blueberries for Mr. SV.

FF, yes, the pups went crazy with the Pickles and Brine. Fortunately, the jar just cracked into two pieces, so no danger of them ingesting glass. I've only heard of Cranberry Bogs. Blueberries grow very successfully down here. They like acidic soil, so dumping coffee grounds around them is beneficial. I did hope to plant enough Grape Vines to make wine, but, I'm me, so no wine will get made.

Unknown, I had my credit card out to pay and my mother wanted to inspect the check. I put it in my lap and I guess it fell under the table into my shoe (I had on Sandals that I had slipped off). It was the strangest thing. You're sending your parents to Queens alone?

Ingrid, that's such a neat idea! You love to clean, so you could clean my house when you stay here and I could eat at Native Foods & Beet Box and hang with Remy and Frankie! I'm unsure about Tyler's involvment, since I think he's at Sarah's brother's house. As for Haxan -- there's a third party involved with FF's roommate. It is an excellent idea aside from those two minor stumbling blocks. Maybe Sarah's brother and FF's roommate would be okay with the Airbnb?
