Sunday, February 23rd

There were only two vegan options on the $8.99/pound WF's hot bar this morning -- Oatmeal or Potatoes. I wasn't gonna pay $9 for a bowl of Oatmeal, so I went with a little over a half a pound of Potatoes. They were good, but not as good as when they've been sitting under the heat lamp for many hours...
Mr. SVegetarian picked Taste of Burma for lunch. Hot towels are presented upon arrival, always pleasurable and reminds me of being on an airplane....
I started with the 'Fermented Tea Leaf Salad' (Let Phet Thoke) $8 Pickled Tea Leaf, Cabbage, Tomatoes, Sesame Seeds, Roasted Peanuts, Broad Beans, and Garlic Chips, all mixed with seasoning....

followed by the 'Singapore Street Noodles' $12 Thin Rice Noodle, Onion, Carrot, Napa Cabbage, Bean Sprouts, stir fried in Curry Masala, Ginger, Garlic and Soy Sauce. Next time, I'll just have the Salad as my entree...

My last Japanese Golden Chop with Lemon & Capers and Roasted Asparagus for dinner...
A big piece of Vegan Treats Tiramisu Cake for dessert...

I took 55 pics in the barn this afternoon, but only one turned out.  You're welcome, Ingrid...

There will be nothing new under the sun here tomorrow.

Ooo, warm towels, such a nice touch. I love Asian little noodle veggie dishes, especially when they're piled high in the center of the plate. I really do appreciate details such as all of these. Enjoy your week!

KITTY! OMG that one picture is so worth it, it's absolutely adorable. What a sweet face, I'm melting right now.

I love the warm towels, it is such a luxurious feeling. The lunch dishes look incredible. The salad sounds so interesting and the noodles look hearty and satisfying. I'm interested in seeing what will replace the chops ;) That tiramisu cake looks insane.

I still feel badly for getting so antsy about the actually-lemon-devilfruit. PARTICULARLY because my love of lemons is equally only by my love of capers.

Um, what airline are you taking? Or rather, are you flying first class? Not hot towels for me! Ha! I'd add it to my bucket list. ;)

Beautiful salad and noodle dishes!

Ha ha! Thank you for the 55 picture attempts, and I'm so glad one gorgeous photo turned out! Such a cutie.

The towels are awesome! To go with the full english breakfast, I'll put out warm water bowls with rose petals. Or maybe that's more of a high tea. Who are we kidding I will just eat with my grubby hands.
The salad looks and sounds fantastic but it does look like a lot on its own. Will we see lots of Singapore noodle leftovers soon?
I love love love tiramisu, almost as much as I love furry cats. What a pretty.

How lame that whole foods was a bust at breakfast....the potatoes do look good. That salad at lunch sounds really amazing! What a great mix of ingredients. Were the noodles a let down or just more than you wanted?
Love the capers at dinner. Have you seen those huge caper berries still on the stems? I was at a restaurant once where those were fried as a garnish- i freaked out over them.....
Tiramisu cake? Its very pretty.
Love love love love the kitty pic!!!!

I even biked some today too- but it looks like that may be it for a while now....asuugghhhh. Nice while it lasted.

Why would you choose salad over far superior NOODLES? I've never seen that tiramisu cake before; that looks very good (of course). What a beautiful kitty; great angle too.

Hey Now!!!!

Jenny, I'll let Mr. SV his choice of lunch locale brought out a very stubborn lurker.

Sarah, unfortunately, I don't have a good replacement for the Chops. Might have to revert back to Boca Burgers, Chikn Patties and Field Roast Franks. I'm bummed about that.

Hannah, you should not feel bad about mistaking Lemon for Devil Fruit. Although, why you would think I'd put Devil Fruit on my faux meat we'll never know.

Ingrid, I wish I could remember the specifics of where/how the hot towels were distributed to me in flight. Lucky for you (and me) we no longer have to pay to develop each individual 'frame'.

FF, you called it: Singapore Noodle leftovers sooner rather than later.

Unknown, the Noodles are good, but not as good as the Tea Leaf Salad. YES I HAVE SEEN THOSE HUGE *SS CAPERS! They are offered on WF's Olive Bar, but I've yet to buy any because I haven't expected to be using Capers as much as I have lately. Good job getting out and about during that tiny spurt of spring.

Abby, the Burmese Tea Leaf Salad is really unique. The Singapore Street Noodles, while tasty of course, are not as unique. In fact, I think I might be able to make my own with some Rice Noodles, Curry Power, Veggies and Sesame Oil.

Because didn't Americans invent that weird-ass orange chicken fake Chinese dish?
