Franks & Beans! Franks & Beans!
The Artist Currently Known As Food Feud recommended these Franks a long time ago, but I didn't get around to trying them till today. The rec was solid. These are the best Franks I've ever had. Merci buttercups, FF!
Field Roast Meatloaf with Imagine Mushroom Gravy and a Baked Potato with Sour Supreme for dinner.
Rum & Organic Root Beer. We only have two ice cube trays and I neglected to keep them full.
Speaking of neglect, I neglected to turn on the oven when I put the Potatoes in. Didn't get to eat dinner till past my bed time, hence, no dessert.

Can't believe a pic of a CPK item finally turned out.Balsamic Seitan and Ethiopian Curried Vegetables from Whole Foods for dinner.

Still on the Rum.

WTF Wednesday

A big bowl of Cherries for lunch (these weren't that good, but I ate them all anyway)...
and the rest of the container of Eggless Egg Salad from The Common Market.
Steaming hot Field Roast Meatloaf, TJ's Tiny Taters and Roasted Green Beans for dinner.
Back to the Rum tonight. Gotta give the Ginger a break for a while.

Tuesday, August 9th

Hawaiian Burger (Soy Patty with Mushroom, Pineapple, Onion & Teriyaki Sauce) with Fries $9.95 from Loving Hut for lunch.
Even though I ate more than enough Bread at lunch, I had Eggless Egg Salad from The Common Market on Rye for dinner.
Between the Apple Ginger Vodka for imbibage and the Raspberry Jam Filled Ginger Snaps from Whole Foods for dessert, the evening was extremely Gingery. My mouth is a burnin!
WTFing tomorrow!

Monday, August 8th

Today was one of those days when Whole Foods had nothing very interesting in the prepared foods section. I made do with Asian Noodle Salad, Tofu, Artichokes and Garbanzos. Tasted surprisingly great for just making do.
Field Roast Meatloaf, TJ's Tiny Taters and Roasted Green Beans for dinner.
More of the Sticky Fingers Sticky Bun for dessert. The Sticky Bun is getting a little better as the center draws closer. Doubt I'd buy one again though. Anyone else out there try one of these before? Anyone? Anyone?
Last week, Lacey recommended this Apple Ginger Vodka. When I was checking out with it at the liquor store, the very unfriendly manager broke character to say that it sounded good. It sure did and does!
Excellent rec! The vegan blogging community works!

Tofu Scrambler $11 at Cafe Nola for lunch. They do well by Potatoes.
Rich and creamy Amazake Almond Shake for the ride home.
Field Roast Meatloaf and Zucchini Pancakes for dinner.
The other half of my Chocolate Chip Cookie Bar from The Common Market for dessert.
Preparing for cube dwellage in the am.

Saturday, August 6th

I ventured way out of my blogging territory today to The Land Of Kush.
I got the $10.99 'Entree & Two Side Platter' - Kush BBQ Ribs smothered in a homemade BBQ Sauce, Smoked Collard Greens and Baked Macaroni & Cheese. Really well made, flavorful BBQ. Very light Mac & Cheese, no nooch taste, not oily. Collards cooked down to a delicate consistency. All high quality and satisfying. The staff is super friendly to boot.
Mr SV got the 'Veggie Wrap' $5.99 (yes that should have been his Platter and this should have been my Wrap, but he enjoyed what he got).
A bowl of Mom's Gazpacho for dinner.
Half of a Sticky Fingers Chocolate Chip Cookie for dessert.
Rain Organic Vodka for my drinking pleasure.
Will I get to experience yet another vegan restaurant tomorrow?! We shall see....

Friday, August 5th

This morning, I finally made it to Sticky Fingers. The 'Breakfast Burrito' - Organic Whole Grain Tortilla, Tofu Scramble, Black Beans, Tomato, Spinach & Daiya Cheese $7.95
While waiting for the Burrito, I bought a pre-made 'Breakfast Sandwich' $4.75
The Burrito was way better than the Sandwich, but I was so overwhelmed to be amongst all the vegan goodness, I really didn't know what was going on.
The next stop was The Museum Of Natural History. I couldn't leave anything like TLT Sandwiches or Lasagna in the hot car, so I bought one of the signature Sticky Buns $3.75 to go.
A Kunzite necklace that caught my eye amongst the Gems and Minerals exhibit:
Carryout for lunch from Sunflower-'Curry Supreme' (Chunks of Soy Protein served with Broccoli, Potatoes, Mushrooms, Carrots and Green Peas in a special Japanese Curry Sauce).
Part of the Sticky Bun for dessert. We weren't too impressed with it, pretty dry, but we're hoping that as we work our way inwards, it will get better.
Rain Organic Vodka for my evening revelry.
Major sensory overload.

Thursday, August 4th

Groupon induced lunch at Addie's today where I enjoyed the Seasonal Vegetable Salad -- Arugula, Wax Beans, Potatoes, Radishes, Squash in Champagne Vinaigrette $12.
Mr. SV made Spaghetti tonight with Barilla Whole Wheat Capellini, LEDO's Sauce, Boca Crumbles and TJ's Meatless Meatballs.
Magical Coconut Bar for dessert. Only three of these bad boys left.
So that's that. And that too.

Wednesday, August 3rd

Lunch was the Boca Burger from Red Robin.
Word on the street is that the typical vegan dinner consists of 1/3 grain (brown rice, polenta, quinoa, whole wheat bread); 1/3 veggies (whatever is on sale/in season) 1/3 protein (beans, tofu). So that's what I had tonight -- Rice, Zucchini & Soy Curls.
White Chocolate Raspberry Cheesecake from Vegan Treats via Loving Hut.
Ketel One Oranje = Orange-flavored Vodka. Made in Holland (I just found out today).

Mr. SV is WTFing tomorrow, so I WTF'ed today. A pound of organic Cherries...
and some Veggie Pirate Booty for lunch. (Somebody needs their nails clipped).
Okara Burgers and Tater Babies w/Elise's Fry Sauce for dinner.
The last slice of WF's Blueberry Pie with Almond Dream Vanilla Ice Cream for dessert.
Ketel One Oranje. Ketel One is Vodka, People!

Monday, August 1st

Veggie Burrito Bowl from Chipotle for lunch.
Dinner and dessert were from The Common Market.
Open-faced Eggless Egg Salad Sandwich for dinner.
Half of a Chocolate Chip Cookie Bar for dessert (more cakey than I personally prefer for my cookie bars).
Ketel One Oranje. That's right, 'Oranje'. Way cooler than regular old 'Orange'.
This was some high quality imbibage.
