Sunday, October 23rd

It was a Bocalicious day: My Boca Burger $7.95 at Mom's Place for lunch.

My Boca Chick'n Patties for dinner. The 'Pea Shoots' were picked up at the farmers market yesterday $5.
I also picked up a Plum Pie from the folks at 1st Avenue Bakery. $15
According to the vendor and the ingredients, it's vegan. (Moments earlier, we were quite unnerved by The Boy Muffin Makers hawking 'gluten free/dairy free' muffins that upon further inspection turned out to be made with lard).
I sure hope this pie is actually vegan cuz I ate at big piece tonight. It was fantastic. Worthy of all the blue ribbons.
I really didn't mean for this to be a post predominately about Plum Pie, just want to show how pretty it was.

Saturday, October 22nd

Lunch was a last vestige of summer: Tomato Sandwich at Market Table Bistro.
Dinner was a first vestige of Thanksgiving: Gardein Stuffed Turk'y and a Baked Sweet Potato.
Dessert was the other half my slice of the White Chocolate Raspberry Cheesecake from Vegan Treats via Loving Hut. Before I could adequately photograph it, Mr. SV cheekily plucked off the puff of 'Whipped Topping' and popped it in his mouth. My battle with his passive aggression is never-ending. Nonetheless, my eating of this Cheesecake was extremely pleasurable.
Coming up tomorrow: the second rapture has passed and you're still alive. What to eat?

Friday, October 21st

Lunch was the 'Roasted Vegetable Salad' - Roasted Artichoke Hearts, Asparagus, Peppers, Corn and Sun-Dried Tomatoes on Romaine lettuce with Avocados. Fat-Free Balsamic Vinaigrette subbed for Dijon $13.25 from California Pizza Kitchen.
It's only a four hour drive away, but much as I've wanted to for years, I've never dined at Candle Cafe. Now I can have the Candle Cafe experience in my own home with my favorite dining companions:
No celebrity sightings or blogger meetups, but totally glamorous and gourmet. Portion size could have been several times bigger for my tastes, that's just my gluttony.
Pretty exceptional food day, if I must say so myself.

Thursday, October 20th

Red Robin got my order right again.
More Homemade Vegetable Soup. A lot of bloggers would just re-use last night's pic of the soup, but this is the actual bowl I enjoyed tonight.
Soyummi Dark Chocolate Pudding for dessert.
Neither Mr. SV nor I were overly impressed with this product. The texture was too similar to Jell-O.
I hope you're all here tomorrow, good grub will be the order of the day.

WTF Wednesday

Hummus on an Ezekiel English Muffin...
Homemade Vegetable Soup...
Minimalism. It works for me.

Tuesday, October 18th

Four Grain Tofu Burger Sandwich...
and Black Bean Adobo Chili for lunch.
Repeat for dinner: The last of the Five Star Foodies Harvest Roast and Mac & Cheese.
My last Magical Coconut Bar for dessert. Gonna have to make another batch of these to keep on hand.
Coming up tomorrow: Making a big pot of Vegetable Soup

Monday, October 17th

I've made it my goal to explore the menu at Lotus Vegetarian. Today was the 'Organic Tempeh Sandwich' (Whole Wheat Bread) Organic Smoked Tempeh (5-grain), Lettuce, Grilled Red Bell Pepper, Pickle and Mozzarella Soy Cheese $8.50.'Hot and Sour Soup' $2.75 Organic Carrots, Tofu, Bamboo Shoots, Wood Ear, Enoki, and White Mushrooms. This was high quality. Five Star Foodies Harvest Roast for dinner with leftover Mac & Cheese.
This Roast must be meant as a Thanksgiving substitution. It is two rectangles of Seitan with some Stuffing in between (two servings, but one Gravy packet). Surprised WF's sold this stuff, especially considering the sodium content. I would recommend just buying a Gardein Cutlet instead.
Half a slice of the White Chocolate Raspberry Cheesecake from Vegan Treats via Loving Hut.
Coming up tomorrow: Satisfied with my unpopular blog. Probably going to WF's to buy Body Wash & Nooch.

Sunday, October 16th

Succumbing to MoFo peer pressure (aka Ingrid), I made my first Pumpkin Pie Smoothie. Still needs some work. It didn't taste like Pumpkin Pie to me, and didn't look like everyone else's Smoothie. I must be Smoothie impaired.
Field Roast Frankfurter & Wegman's Baked Beans for lunch.
The last of the Black Bean Soup for dinner. Thank God it's gone!
Coming up tomorrow: Dedicating myself to becoming the best vegan blogger on the planet without original recipes, professional photographs or details of my personal life.

Saturday, October 15th

Lunch was at Loving Hut. We started with the Summer Rolls $2.50...
I stuck with the tried and true Hawaiian Burger $8.50 plus $1.45 for the Fries.
Gardein Tuscan Breasts and Roasted Cauliflower for dinner.
VaVa recommended picking Candy Cane Joe Joes for those times I just don't know what to have for dessert. These were especially minty. Pretty wild that the best buy date on the box was Mar '09.
I noticed this afternoon that my Saffron came up again this year. I almost missed it! Looks like it's on its last legs though. Wonder what Saffron recipe I can make?
Coming up tomorrow: Hopefully something delicious.

Friday, October 14th

Lunch was at La Sandia, an upscale Mexican restaurant at Tysons Corner Mall where I had pre-planned to meet my mother at 11:20. It might not be apparent without the Tortillas, but these were my Vegetable Fajitas $13.95. Our server was most excellent in confirming that the Black Beans and Rice were vegan. Too bad he got semi-shafted on the tip, but that's another story for another day.

Gardein Beefless Burgers and Oven Fries for dinner.
No dessert because I couldn't figure out what to have. For serious.

Thursday, October 13th

Unfortunately, my streak of mediocre meals continued through lunch. The Spud Ole (Baked Potato with Veggie Chili) from McAlister's Deli. $6.79.
The mediocrity ended with an above average dinner: Seitan with Heinz-57 and Mac & Cheese from Roots Market. (I'm sure I was supposed to use the broiler to heat the Mac & Cheese, but broiling is not my bag).
Still half a container of the Mac & Cheese left to not broil.
A Mexican Hot Chocolate Snickerdoodle with Peanut Butter for dessert.
Tomorrow: Mexican Grub.

WTF Wednesday

Lunch was a 'Chicken Salad' Sandwich composed of items picked up at Roots Market over the weekend.
This was not the best vegan 'Chicken Salad' I ever had.
The Potato Salad could've been better as well. I like a little Pickle Juice action in my Potato Salad.
Another bowl of mega spicy Black Bean Soup. Mr. SV refuses to eat any, so it's on me to ingest it all.
Ancient poo just to wrap things up:
Why I feel the need for a post summation is beyond me.

Tuesday, October 11th

'Lotus Spicy' with Brown Rice from Lotus Vegetarian $7.95 Diced Soy Protein sautéed with Dried Tofu, Celery, Organic Carrots, Green and Red Bell Peppers, sprinkled with Peanuts in Spicy Kung Pao Sauce. Spring Roll on the side. They added new items to their menu since the last time I visited, so hopefully I'll try something new next time.
Chickpea Cutlets and Sweet Potato Fries with Curry Sauce (Vegenaisse and Curry Powder) for dinner.
Align Left
A Pumpkin Chai Nicobella Truffle for dessert. Gone through some temperature changes, but still tastes great.
Coming up: Working From Home
