Marmite

It has been several weeks since Maureen's post
about Vegemite. As soon as I read it, I knew
it was time to try it. All I could find in my area
was Marmite. For lunch today, I spread a thin
layer (as recommended) on a slice of toasted
Trader Joe's Tuscan Bread.
It had an interesting smokey/salty flavor. I'm
not feeling the need to eat it every day yet, but
it's always great to try new things. Thank you
Maureen! Aren't you glad to know your blog
had an effect on some lady's life way down in
Virginia?

Oh, I LOVE Marmite. My friend Steph, whose husband is British, gave me a jar. My fave way to eat it is on toast topped with vegan cottage cheese (which I make my combining cold, crumbled tofu with a little Veganaise, soymilk, and a pinch of sugar). So good!

Ooooh my gosh I am delighted to have inspired someone else into trying this antipodean delight! I hope it grows on you. In fact, I'm amazed you weren't repulsed after the first try. I love how there's like 10 or 15 cals per serving...sure beats the 100 cals in peanut butter! Anyway, happy eating!!
