WTF Tuesday

I tried mixing Scallions in with my Tofutti Cream Cheese this morning. Alas, I didn't put in enough to make any noticeable taste difference...
A bowl of thick and hearty Common Market Classic Lentil Soup for lunch. Best Lentil Soup I've had in years...
Random Girl Beef Stroganoff for dinner...
Eight Chocolate Covered Cherries for dessert...
Fewer retro choices tomorrow (cuz I'm out of Lentil Soup and Stroganoff).

That is pretty genius to mix some scallion into your cream cheese. It looks really pretty and I see you are back to your pumpernickel bagel. I tried the Daiya cream cheese a little while ago and it was so gross. I had one bite and had to throw out my food and the tub because it was that gross. And I don't like wasting food. I should have listened when you said it wasn't your fav.

I love the lunch and dinner choices. Very retro indeed. The lentil soup does look really hearty and delicious, I'm a little jealous of it. I remember trying chocolate covered cherries in college and enjoying them... I don't know why I haven't had them since. I should get on that too.

The Denver Trader Joe's opens in 10 days. The sign is up, the shelves are being stocked. I know there will be no parking.

Flavored cream cheese is definitely an art that I have not mastered.

Eileen has a ton of great mix in ideas here: http://hampiesandwiches.blogspot.com/2013/01/the-anti-bagel-sourdough-cream-cheese.html (and more somewhere else on the blog but it's not vegetarian or vegan FYI) but the scallion mix-in sounds like a great start. I don't usually get anything besides plain cream cheese so as not to smell like it the rest of the day at work.
I stopped by TJ's today on my lunch break and spun back around once I saw the line. But it all works out nicely - now I know to keep an eye out for those chocolate cherries.

Too bad it wasn't oniony enough, looks good either way! The best flavored tofutti cream cheese i ever had was chopped olives and walnuts...only found it once in a bagel shop.
That's high praise for a lentil soup- hope they have it all the time and it wasn't a special of the day thing.
Cherries are the only other fruit i don't like. I blame the medical community for flavoring childrens medicines as "cherry"- i downed a lot due to ear infections.
Dk choco covered ginger from TJs is my weakness.....

I loooove the name mango!! And somehow the talent for knowing when to sneeze at you is endearing....;)

Well hey, at least the pops of green from the onions are pretty.

Hey Now!!!!

Sarah, it was Unknown who told me about the Scallion Cream Cheese. The Daiya Cream Cheese is actually too 'cheesy' tasting I think. It is certainly strange. I still have a tub of the Strawberry flavor. I can't throw out food, but I definitely don't feel like eating it.

Ingrid, going to Trader Joes when it is mobbed (or any place for that matter) is very unpleasant. Sorry you wont be able to just browse leisurely (till the excitement dies down).

FF, thanks for the link. I don't care if I stink of Garlic and Onions at work. If folks don't like it, they can steer clear of me. I've had those Chocolate Cherries on hand for years. They're not the greatest, but they hit the spot last night.

Unknown, one day I will get to Pick A Bagel for a Scallion Cream Cheese on an Everything Bagel. I've been very successful making Cream Cheese & Olive Spreads at home in the past. Don't think I'd want Walnuts in there though. No Cherries. No Bananas. Tons of Pickled Ginger. Mango will unknowingly be inches from my face just as I'm drifting off to sleep and then suddenly let out a very wet sneeze or snort. It's really crafty of him.

Hannah, what'd you do to my commenters? There's not a single exclamation point amongst them tonight.
