Thursday, August 28th

I had cut up this Melon yesterday for Mr. SVegetarian and the Pups, and thought I would test it out again on myself this morning. I will concede that it was filling and guilt-free, but it was no juicy Peach...
Unfortunately, lunch was not as pleasurable as last nights dinner. Major lesson: as with the Peaches, let the Tomato get to room temperature before consuming...
Field Roast Frankfurters with some (mediocre) Wegmans Potato Salad for dinner...
I needed something guaranteed delicious for dessert, so Uncle Eddie's PB CC Cookies came through...
A Cabbage White Butterfly was semi-cooperative in having its pic taken this afternoon...
A Groupon lunch with Mom tomorrow. Bye for now.

Oh yeah! Tomatoes are supposed to be kept at room temp anyway because otherwise they get mealy!
Ya know, I wish I could have as virtuous a breakfast as you've been lately.
Potato salad looks real good. So does the relish.

Oooh watermelon is right at the top of my favorite fruit list along with peaches :) All good decisions! I need to get some fruit the next time I'm at the store. Lunch looks great, too bad the cold tomatoes weren't doing it for you. You definitely made up for it with dessert, the cookies look amazing! Pretty butterfly!

Watermelon, franks, and cookies... Sounds like summer to me! I miss it already! *cries*

Sandwich was my first thought, as historically Groupons have led you there. Backup guess: Mexican, because Margaritas are good.

This post is reminding me of how lovely this summer has been…and no, it’s not over yet….The Wegmans Potato Salad looks pretty tasty and I want to try these PB cookies, they look so good! What a beautiful photo of the butterfly….love it!

The cut tomato cunundrum always gets me too.... I put cut ones in the fridge but then you do have to let them come to temp. And watermelon is totally different from a peach but at least now you've expanded your fruit circle. That potato salad looks odd- was it one of those mayo free versions?

We're off to big sur this afternoon, aka no where. Will i lose my $hit spending 24/7 with my family, nephew, and no internet?? I'm off to stock up on wine now....

Hey Now!!!!

FF, you are right, as sometimes! I searched 'storing cut Tomatoes' on the web after reading your comment and I will NEVER put one in the fridge again. Wish I knew before I destroyed that gorgeous Heirloom.

Sarah, I know you love Watermelon! Hope you get some of your favorites soon as well.

Ingrid, ding! ding! ding! We've got a winner!

Rika, it is every vegan's duty to buy a bag of Uncle Eddies Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies! Shame on you for falling down on the job!

Unknown, my decision has been made: no Tomato shall enter my fridge ever again. The Potato Salad was so disappointing. Mayo-free, tossed with Corn and Peppers. Alll flavorless. Do they have electricity or TV in Big Sur? Sounds like returing to piomeer days. In which case, you need a jug of Moonshine to cope.
