Tuesday, March 31st

Had to take off work today for various doctors appointments, so no breakfast, but made up for it with lunch at Taste of Burma. Like Pavlov's dog, I think Taste of Burma, I think '33'...
Tea Leaf Salad is de rigeuer. Mr. SVegetarian's elbow as photo bomb...
went crazy and tried the Tamarind Curry Vegetables. Great level of spiciness. Big chunks of Eggplant that werent bitter or seedy...

the last of the Eggless Egg Salad for dinner. Sad to see that go...
Heading back out again tomorrow. Lots of fresh items for the blog. Bye for now.

Hope it was just the usual dr appts and all is well and good!
That salad looks amazing with such great texture- and peanuts?? Yum. The elbow photo bomb is too funny. And yes long cooked eggplant in saucy stuff can be really good, maybe there is hope yet there.
I wonder what the secret recipe is to that eggless salad....?

Too funny how (almost) right you were about last night! He's actually a lawyer for a hedge fund, and (sob) not so single.... ;(
I miss yummy chinatown meal options! I might head down there this weekend and hit a few markets now that my produce won't freeze before i get back home....

I had a check up today, who knew we were scheduling ourselves for the same date?! Great minds, I suppose. ;)

When I think of tea leaves, I picture them as small pieces, and very herbal. Is this the case? Nice looking curry!

Woo hoo - fresh items!

Hope all went well at the Dr! Love to see you branching out, the meal looks phenomenal. Glad that you enjoyed the eggplant too :) The elbow photo bomb made me chuckle. That's about as much as we get to see of either of you for the most part! ;)

I will do my best to get your lizard pics! They are usually crawling all over his screen so hopefully they will pay us a visit! I'll be going at the end of APril and I can't wait!

Wow, that is not what I expected mr. SV's elbow to look like!!
I am so proud of you -eggplant AND beets!! Both the curry and tea leaf salad look fantastic.
I have been drinking less lately, but a cold beer with Burmese food sounds so perfect right now.

Hey Now!!!!

Unknown, Common Market's Eggless Egg Salad cant be beat. Maybe the secret ingredient is Eggs?! Bummer the lawyer was taken, but kudos to you for letting that stop you from pursuing further. Chinatown grub is like Common market Eggless Egg Salad -- how do they get it to taste so much better than everyone else?

Ingrid, the Tea Leaf Salad is impossible to describe. Like fermentened and with crunchy Beans in it. You would like it, I do know that. There is a Burmese restaurant in Falls Church I always wanted to try, Mandalay, supposed to be great. You could get carryout....just sayin...

Sarah, you know I like to keep the blog focused on the food, lest anyone recognize me. Shouldnt be too scorching down there in a month. Try to get to Disneyworld too.

FF, dont forget I also had Okra this week. Can you say the same?
