Friday, January 10th

Ye Olde Grapefruit & two Energy Bites for breakfast...
Carryout from PF Changs brought to my mother's for lunch again. Spring Rolls...
and MaPo Tofu (when you get the $100 PF Changs gift card at Christmas, you get $20 free per card. The $20 has to be used within the first couple months of the new year. Hence our two PF Changs meals this month)...
'Peruvian Purple Potato Soup' for dinner. Why must the colors all fade like that? So sad...
The last of the Mohicans, er, Cocomels! for dessert...
Mr. SVegetarian has agreed to go to LPQ for breakfast tomorrow. I think he's just f'ing with me. We shall see.

Those nuggets look nice and nutty! My market also has honey pistachio ones that are a lighter color, not as good tho. $100 plus another $20 of pf chang's? That's a lot of mapo! The broccoli is electric today..... Sad that's the end of the caramels but somehow i believe the magic dessert cart will come up with more goodies.
Ha! Why do you think Mr is f-ing with you?? Maybe you can bribe him with an LPQ baked good....;)

I'm relieved the cashews were just camera shy yesterday. I had an incident with those coconut cashews from trader joes and have kept my distance since (zero self control= epic stomach ache).

Could never read that Mohicans book. Maybe it's because I'm not American, but it seemed so dull every time I tried.

Hopefully the Mr. wasn't messing with you and you got to go to LPQ this morning. You two have been married almost 20 years?! That's so awesome. :)

Cocomels make the best caramels. They always remind me of Boulder because they're made there (and we picked some up to eat when we were picnicking in Rocky Mountain National Park). I adore them.

Wow that's a lot of PF Chang's to get through! I don't think I'd mind though, it always looks so delicious. I'm such a sucker for a good spring roll. Sad it's the end of the cocomels. Looking forward to seeing what else the dessert trolley has to offer!!

Re: the recipe for Sandies, that sounds like a fun task! I'll try to healthify them too! I just have to look up regular recipes to see what the heck is in them! I know pecans.... :X

Hey Now!!!

Unknown, I actually did reward Mr. SV with a Brioche. He loves those things. Sorry to hear about your Cashew OD. Nothing worse than when a favorite food makes you sick. Anyway, I need your NYC expertise now: What place makes the best (non-vegan) Chocolate Cheesecake that I can order for my mother's bday? Juniors?

Hannah, never any need to read the book when you can just watch the movie.

RVs, almost 20 years of marriage?! Feels like 20 minutes...under water! Ha! The Cocomels are so fresh and soft. Wish they weren't so pricey.

Sarah, thanks for the help on the Sandies. I'm guessing there is a lot of Earth Balance and Flour, followed by Sugar, Pecans and a pinch of Salt.
