Friday, June 19th

It started out like another day of scrounging up food from around the house...
but then! Aiyara Thai to the rescue! My first Papaya Salad. Pretty, nutritious and light..tasty too, but it didnt jump out at me....
Cashew Tofu for dinner...this week taught me a valuable lesson and I will make sure to stock up properly for next week....
Mocha Almond Fudge for dessert...
TFK tomorrow. In desperate need of the Kale Salad. Bye for now.

That's a great breakfast regardless of what else is in the house...! Glad to see thai food was procured. The papaya salad is just a nice refreshing summery salad, there can be a big difference between restaurants on how good it is. Did yours have fresh cilantro in there?? I do see a few peanuts. I wonder if you had a cashew tofu showdown who would win...? That one looks really good but the red chili kinda scares me.
I will go prepared with my insulated bag from TJs to seek out vegan ice cream near an express train back home this weekend...!

How are the furry kids lately? Do you have a kiddie pool for the dogs?

I think pan fried tofu and any nut (peanut, cashew in particular) with sauce is always a good idea! I haven't had a combination like that in ages, I should!

Oooh, does that mean a wrap to go along with the kale salad?! Yum!

I love Papaya salad, and that cashew tofu looks almost as amazing as Loving Hut's jalapeno tofu! The Papaya salad is something I know I could never ever recreate myself. Under two weeks to Seattle!

Looks like it turned out to be a great food day, especially as a result of scrounging! You can't go wrong with that breakfast and the papaya salad looks lovely and refreshing. And you certainly can't go wrong with cashew tofu.

I guess I'll be sticking with banana soft serve for my ice cream option during my cleanse… if coffee was an option I would make mocha almond fudge banana ice cream but I guess I'll stick to the fruit and nut flavors :)

Have a nice Saturday! I hope you enjoy your kale salad.

Hey Now!!!!!

Unknown, there was no fresh Cilantro on the Papaya Salad, but Aiyara Thai is my current favorite Thai restaurant, so i can only assume their Papaya Salad would be the best I could find in the area. I enjoyed it, but again, never had anything like it before. Not sure what to think about it other than i enjoyed it well enough. I do hope you got your Ice Cream today, but what a scorcher! doubt an insulated bag would help much. Hope you added some ice packs.

Ingrid, I agree, Nuts and Tofu are a match made in heaven. Are you back into your routine with Remy, Yoga and cleaning?

VP, this was my first ever Papaya Salad so i didnt know how to gauge it. You are so lucky to be moving to Seattle. Try to blog your travel across countey as well. I am sure it wont be easy.

Sarah, still waiting for a post on the cleanse. Why arent you posting on it like you said you would? I demand excellence from my commenters!

I am a commenting fool this evening, but you have been eating some great stuff! I was hoping to try a green papaya salad at a local Thai place, but they couldn't make it without fish sauce. I'm still on the hunt for a vegan one. Sorry yours wasn't that awesome.
