Monday, September 12th

Lentil Dal Wrap...
...and Adobo Black Bean Chili from Whole Food's for lunch.
Gardein Beefless Burgers with Heirloom Tomato and Oven Fries for dinner.
The rest of the Eggless Egg Salad for dessert. Yes, I know it made me ill last time, but I hate wasting food and I seem to be okay this time.
Danish Vodka for less than $20...
I've actually been to Denmark (didn't get to see The Little Mermaid), and know it's a pretty cool place with relatively normal meteorological and geological conditions that I could determine.
My drink models were unusually cooperative tonight. Guess they don't mind posing with the cheap stuff.

Sunday, September 11th

The Ultimate Vegetable Wrap - Hummus, Roasted Tomatoes, Cucumbers, Tomatoes, Carrots, Spinach and Shaved Red Onions in a Tortilla Wrap $7.99 enjoyed Al Fresco at The Main Cup.Leftover Wok Zone Kung Pao Tofu (I added a diced Green Pepper) for dinner.
Magical Coconut Bars for dessert. Only one left. These were really the greatest investment I've ever made in terms of output vs. effort.I wish I could announce something exciting like I'm pregnant with my fourth child, but instead, I'll just note that it is raining again.

Saturday, September 10th

Lunch was at Wok Zone where I enjoyed two Spring Rolls $2.95...
and a massive portion of very spicy Kung Pao Tofu $7.50 with an icy cold Sapporo $3.95.
Mom's Place Lentil Soup for dinner...
WF's Apple Pie with a little Almond Dream Vanilla for dessert.
I dunno, what's there to say? It finally stopped raining and now it's hot & humid again. Have a nice night everyone!

Friday, September 9th

Red Robin got my order right again.
Last of the Chili for dinner. This time with added Mushrooms instead of TVP.
Vegan Treats Chocolate Mocha Cake that I bought Monday at Loving Hut.
For today's Lunch, Dinner & Dessert, see above.

Thursday, September 8th

Lunch was the 'Vegan Club' from the NoVa Food Truck. Basically Tofu, Avocado, LTO on Pumpernickle with two side servings of Fruit Salad $7. I've been wanting to try a Food Truck for eons -- expecting it to be a steaming, manic scene out of 'Top Chef'. Instead, it was so mellow and chill. I thought the folks working there would fall asleep before I got my grub.
Field Roast Classic Meatloaf with Imagine Mushroom Gravy and Baked Potato with Sour Supreme for dinner.
Time warp: There was a package waiting for me when I got home from work.
Half Baked Truffles, Mexican Hot Chocolate Snickerdoodles and a personal note from Sarah telling me how I'm her most favorite blogger and inspiration for blogging blah blah. When I read it, I started to feel a little guilty that I technically kinda cyber-bullied Sarah into having a giveaway so I wouldn't have to make the Truffles myself. Later I ate a Cookie...
and a Truffle...
and decided it's time to hone my manipulation skillz. Look at the mixture of Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough and Brownie Batter dipped in Chocolate!!!! More later.

WTF Wednesday

Still feeling a little iffy from all the Eggless Egg Salad yesterday. I don't know why it affected me that way, it was fantastic while I was eating it. A bowl of leftover Chili with added TVP for lunch.
Boca Chickn Patties and Corn on the Cob. (It's not so easy photographing this kind of food. I'd like to see how VaVa or Rose would approach photographing this dinner).
Dessert was a little piece of the Sticky Bun from Vegan Treats that I bought at Loving Hut a couple weeks ago. Still just as dry and sticky as the day I bought it.
So what have we accomplished here today? Anything? I'm gonna say 'Nothing' and call it a night. See you tomorrow!

Tuesday, September 6th

A cup of Adobo Black Bean Chili...
and Grilled Tofu with Quinoa and Artichokes for lunch.
Eggless Egg Salad on Rye for dinner.
The Eggless Egg Salad didn't agree with me (couldn't have been the Olives). So two nights in a row with no dessert. Hopefully, I'll digest it all by morning so as to make way for different vegan goodies.

Monday, September 5th

The 'Crispy Burger' with Fries $7.95 at Loving Hut for lunch.
Lunch was so massive, I just had room for a cup of leftover Chili for dinner.
I did pick up a luscious piece of cake at lunch, but decided to save it for another day. Tonight was all about copious quantities of Vodka (from the land of underground volcanoes).

Sunday, September 4th

Lunch was the Tofu Scrambler $11 at Cafe Nola. Roasted Potatoes on the side.We sat at the bar and I noticed they have those infused liquors -- the topic of recent blogger conversation. This is just a third of the varieties on display and they were pretty popular. Especially the Tomato Vodka for the Bloody Marys.
I started to make this Chili yesterday. Upon reading the directions, I discovered that it required soaking of the beans overnight. (As you can see, 'Crystal' put together the bag of Beans & Spices. Gives it a personal touch).
This was my first time soaking beans overnight. Previously, I've only soaked beans for sprouting.
The Beans did absorb a lot of water, so it was probably necessary to soak them. The rest of the recipe required sauteeing Onions, Garlic & Green Pepper...
....then, after three hours of simmering, adding 32 ounces of Diced Tomatoes. Don't ask! It was a whole big thing. The most labor intensive Chili I've ever made. On Labor Day Weekend no less. Thankfully, It turned out pretty well. Very spicy and beany.
WF's Vegan Apple Pie for dessert.
Can't wait not to get up at 4:45am tomorrow. Thanks for visiting the blog.

Saturday, September 3rd

I went to the Farmer's Market this morning and bought these little Tomatoes (as well as an Heirloom Tomato and some Green Peppers that will be shown later).
Lunch was a Wegman's Burrito with Sour Supreme.
It was just okay, I probably won't buy it again.
BBQ Grain Meat and Corn on the Cobb for Dinner.
The Corn was pretty good, but the Yves was just okay.
After a mediocre Lunch & Dinner, Dessert had to be spectacular: the other half of my Chocolate Creme Filled Cupcake. Saved the day.
Sweden supplied the Vodka for this evenings revelry.
So does Sweden have an everlasting sparkly cloud with high altitude atmosphere? Or do they just have IKEA?

Friday, September 2nd

I couldn't wait any longer for the three day weekend to come to me, so I came to it. Stayed home today and enjoyed more Plums that look like Mini Chocolate Donuts for lunch. Too much flour & sugar yesterday.
Gardein Beefless Burgers with Black Beans & Rice for dinner.
Pumpkin Spice Cake for dessert.
I'm thinking of spending the weekend putting together a 'vegan zine'. They're supposedly all the rage. Working title: 'Agave Accent Ague'.

Thursday, September 1st

There are not a lot of vegan options at Maggiano's to say the least. I had the House Salad $2 (with coupon) to start...
and the Angel Hair Pasta with Olive Oil $12.95 (that price includes another Pasta dish to take home, but I let my Mother take it).
It was a massive portion with tons leftover, so this was my opportunity to try Blessed Mama's Pasta with Sauteed Veggies or Blessed Mama's Leftover Pasta Delight. I think I went with the Pasta with Sauteed Veggies. Mushrooms, Onions, Sun-Dried Tomatoes and Spinach were my Veggies of choice. Left out the five cloves of Garlic. Green Olive Spread on the Bread.
I bought one of these Chocolate Creme Filled Cupcakes about a month ago, and finally tried half of it tonight
and it was a million times better than any Cupcake I've ever had in my life. Bar none.
Horrible name. Horrible logo. Fantastic product. Stock up now before the name & logo puts the company out of business.
