WF's Black Bean Soup for lunch...
Earth Balance Cheddar Puffs for an afternoon snack...
Gardein Beefless Burgers with Oven Fries for dinner...
Half of an extremely moist and fudgy Brownie from Native Foods for dessert...
Phew! I documented all my eats for the day. Sometimes you just have to power through. Bye for now.

Sunday, September 28th

A new place to get a vegan breakfast opened in Fairfax last week: True Food Kitchen
My Tofu Scramble Wrap $9 made with Soy Chorizo and Pasilla Peppers with Anasazi Beans (served hot) on the side. At first, I thought the portion was too small, but by the end, I realized it was more than enough. I still prefer LPQ's now defunct Tofu Scramble with the Soy Cheese and the slabs of chewy bread, but this was certainly enjoyable, and I would pick this place over Tavern 64. The restaurant is far more spacious then LPQ. I am assuming that it will become so popular, that soon it will be impossible to get in and I will be in search of somewhere else for breakfast...
Speaking of LPQ, I wrote to their corporate headquarters a couple weeks ago and received a response from one 'Morena Tan' on 9/16:

"Thank you for your interest in Le Pain Quotidien and for taking the time to reach out to us. While we currently do not have plans to bring back the Tofu Scramble, our menu is always changing and evolving with the seasons so it might return in the future! In the mean time, I forwarded your feedback to our Food and Beverage team to take note. Thank you again, and we hope that you visit us soon!"

Morena somehow knew I love exclamation points. Anyway, I carried out an Andy's Favorite TLT $12 from True Food Kitchen for dinner. Tempeh, Lettuce, Tomato, Avocado, Vegenaisse on House Pita with Kale Salad on the side. No one can accuse Andy of skimping on food. This was outstanding, but oh! if only I hadn't eaten the WHOLE thing....
So freakin full, no room for any of my luscious desserts. I saw more enthusiastic people this weekend than I have seen in my entire life. Bye for now.

Saturday, September 27th

Look where I ate today!!!! Thanks to Ingrid's advice, I signed up for Native Food's email alerts and was invited to their soft opening this weekend...
I didn't realize that I had agreed to have my picture taken till after the lumch was over. That explains why the camera man acted like I was nuts when I requested he not take my photo. Mr. SVegetarian, however, gave a lengthy interview much lauding the place...
Andrea McGinty (the blonde in yellow talking to the cameraman way in the back of this photo) came to our table and spoke to us for about five minutes. She told us the best news: they're planning to open a couple more locations in Fairfax and Falls Church, Virginia this year! No having to go to D.C.!
Here is where you order upfront, then they bring the food to your table...
Daily Specials for $9.95 include a Side...
I should have behaved myself and stuck with Green Tea but...
I had a few Lost Rhino Face Plants ($2 each) to celebrate...
Japanese Sesame Crusted Chicken Bites as my Starter...
Mr. SVegetarian had a bowl of the Native Chili..We will definitely be bringing home quarts of this in the future...
I finally got to try the famous Reuben...While tasty, I will have try it again when I am not over-excited by a restaurant soft opening swirling around me because, as of this writing, I prefer both Common Market and Randy Radish's Reubens. The Sauerkraut in this particular Reuben was too timid for my tastes. Who knew I had an opinion about Sauerkraut?!...
Mr. SVegetarian's Blackened Chicken Twister Wrap...
We were beyond stuffed after all the delicious food and brought our desserts home for another day. Peanut Butter Parfait and a Fudgy Brownie...
After lunch, we went over to Woodlands Vegan Bistro (formerly Everlasting Life Cafe) to get carryout for later in the week. As you may recall, last Saturday I spent the majority of my time at Vegfest waiting in line at the Woodlands Food Truck...
and here I was a week later getting a ton of grub in less than ten minutes. Had I only known....Nonetheless, there is a new big dessert case in the restaurant with massiive pieces of Cheesecake at $6 per. I got a slice of Blueberry Cheesecake and three Chocolate Chip Cookies...
plus a bunch of Fried Chicken and Mac & Cheese...
Where you order the grub...Hot chicks get preferential treatment...
My Fried Chicken with Mac & Cheese for dinner...
Perhaps another exciting post tomorrow. Perhaps not. Bye for now.

Friday, September 26th

No breakfast, this morning. Waited till lunch to start chowing down starting with some French Rolls...
followed by the Roasted Vegetable Salad at Normandie Farm...
WF's Breaded Tofu with Roasted Squash for dinner...
A bit of Dawsons Market Carrot Cake for dessert...
Very different grub tomorrow, so tune in. Bye for now.

Thursday, September 25th

Major comfort food day, starting with Bob's Red Mill Oatmeal with Raisins...
A Mon Cuisine 'Chicken Style' Pot Pie for lunch...
these are found in the Kosher Frozen Food Section..
hard to believe, but lower sodium than Amy's Vegetable Pot Pie...
I added some Gardein Chicken and Peas to some Le Grande Vegan Rose Sauce. Didn't work out as deliciously as I had hoped...Pretty bad actually...
Lilly's Chocolate Rugelah for dessert. The Chocolate is way better than the Raspberry IMO...
Supposedly lunch with Mom tomorrow. Bye for now.

Wednesday, September 24th

Two more Honeycrisps for breakfast...
More Tomato Sandwiches for lunch...
More Gardein Crispy Tenders with Heinz-57 and WF's Pasta Con Ceci for dinner..
Peanut Chews for dessert (it is what they serve at all the best dinner parties in NY. Mine were more than a little stale. Gotta get a new bag now that Halloween season is upon us)...
Dont worry, all different grub tomorrow...Almost...Bye for now.

Tuesday, September 23rd

So I have gotten the memo that it is time to eat Honeycrisps. These were small, but super crisp!
A Farmers Market Tomato with Just Mayo on Wegmans Toasted Marble Rye for lunch...
Gardein Crispy Tenders (more crispness! a theme!) with WF's Mac & Cheese..
Our local WFs now has a Meatless Mondays selection of...wait for it...Meatless! entrees on their Hot Bar...although, I just noticed they didn't list the Pasta in the ingredients list...hmmmm....
Peanut Butter Swirl with extra PB for dessert. Part of this picture is actually focus. Cant you guess which part?
A lot of the same grub tomorrow. Bye for now.
