WTF Monday

Tofutti Cream Cheese on a toasted TJ's Pumpkin Bagel for breakfast. Couldn't get a good schmear, but the Bagel was pretty pleasing. Very sweet...
Tofurky Kielbasa and Risotto from The Randy Radish for lunch. The Kielbasa really over powered the delicate Risotto. My bad on that pairing...
Boca Burgers with CSA Tomatoes and Peruvian Blue Fries for dinner...
Coconut Coconut Milk Ice Cream with Uncle Eddie's PB Chocolate Chip Cookies for dessert...
If all goes well tomorrow, there will be some non-brown food.

Sunday, September 29th

Today, I enjoyed dining at two of my favorite restaurants: Starting at Le Pain Quotidien for their creamy Tofu Scramble $9.95...
followed by Clare and Don's Beach Shack for their spicy Blackened Tofu Sandwich $8.50...
we started with the Pickle Chips $4.00...
I kept the soy intake going through dinner with some WF's Sesame Grilled Tofu and Roasted CSA Carrots...
Drove the theme home with a Zen Chocolate Vanilla Soy Pudding for dessert.
If eating Soy for Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner and Dessert wasn't enough to make this an interesting post, here are pics of the Chickens enjoying some leftover LPQ Bread...
Hard to capture them mid-bite cuz they do it so fast, but trust me, those are little Chicken bites on the bread...
A pic of the feeder this afternoon with a lot of take-offs and landings at once.
WFH Grub tomorrow

Saturday, September 28th

'Vegan Hash' $12 for breakfast at Tavern 64 Tofu, Potato Hash, Black Beans, Peppers, Onions, Chipotle Drizzle...
Blob...
Salad Bar from WF's with CSA Tomatoes, Fresh Gourmet Croutons and Goddess Dressing for lunch...
Field Roast Frankfurters and Potato Salad from Dawson's Market for dinner...
Also from Dawson's Market, a Blueberry Lemon Cake for dessert...
More like a Muffin than a Cake, but full of Blueberries, so I would buy it again...
100% different grub tomorrow.

Friday, September 27th

My last (till I get to Target) Gardein Breakfast Sandwich for breakfast....
The 'Roasted Veggie Salad' from California Pizza Kitchen for lunch. Warm Artichoke Hearts, Asparagus, Eggplant, Red and Yellow Peppers, Corn and Sun-Dried tomatoes served over cool Romaine and Avocado with Fat-Free Balsamic Vinaigrette...
But that wasn't enough food for me. I had to have a Field Roast Smoked Tomato Deli Slice Sandwich with Vegenaisse when I got home...
Boca Chik'n Patties and a baby CSA Delicata Squash for dinner...
Rice Dream Mint Pie for dessert...
If any local yokels are lurking, I will not be going to DC Vegfest tomorrow, but that should not deter anyone else from going.

Red Pepper Hummus with Dill Sandwich Slices on a Just Bagels Everything Bagel for lunch...

CPK for lunch tomorrow with Mom.

WTF Wednesday

Nature's Path Flax Plus Raisin Bran Flakes with Silk Almond Milk for breakfast...
Molly Katzen's 'Peruvian Purple Potato Soup' and Dawson's Market Cornbread for lunch...
While heating up my Soup for lunch, I lifted the kitchen screen window to take some pictures of the Nuthatches out back. We have mostly Finches, Cardinals, Blue Jays, Woodpeckers, Chickadees and Tuffies around here. I love the nasally little Nuthatch 'honk', so I focused on them today...
I was having to replace these $20 feeders at least monthly till Mr. SVegetarian suggested I bring in the feeder at night and then put it out again in the morning. Night visitors are not only destructive, sometimes the feeder would just be entirely gone in the morning, never to be seen again....
The Squirrels know how to unlatch the top, so I no longer bother with that unless it's raining or snowing. The below pic is entitled, "Oh just help yourself!"
Dinner was carried out from The Randy Radish. Tonight was an 'Organic Gyro Wrap' $7 (with leftover Fries from a week and a half ago)  Whole Wheat Wrap filled with Viana Gyro Meat substitute, Lettuce, Tomato, Red Onion and Tzatziki Sauce.  This was my first Gyro, vegan or otherwise, so I can't say if it was anything like the real deal. I can say it was a humongous and full of faux meat and veggies and that is my kind of meal...
Baked Bliss for dessert. Mr. SVegetarian pulled off a piece before the pic. Extremely enjoyable, but I'm happy to say I'm still not addicted. I am able to resist the Cinnamon Bun.
I'm also happy to say I'm back on my roll of deliciousness. Everything was 100% superb today.

Tuesday, September 24th

Two juicy D'Anjou Pears for breakfast. Not mind blowing, but good...
Carryout lunch from Cafesano. An 'Avocado and Tomato Wrap' $7.39 Avocado mixed with Tomatoes, Romaine, Scallions and Kalamata Olives. Lavash Chips and Red Pepper Hummus on the side...
WF's Blackened Tofu and Roasted CSA Squash and Cherry Tomatoes for dinner...
A Jelly Donut from Vegan Treats via Loving Hut for dessert...
Hard to believe, but lunch was the highlight of this day of food. The Tofu at dinner was dried out, some of the Squash was bitter and the Jelly Donut was a little stale! Will I get back on my food roll tomorrow? I hope so!

WTF Monday

A CSA Cucumber (strange thing to come in last weeks order) with Tofutti Cream Cheese on Pumpernickel for breakfast...
Leftover 'Tofu Pickled Mustard Green' for lunch...
There was some leftover Bob's Red Mill Quick Cooking Oats from last Wednesday, meant to give it to the Chickens, but I selfishly put it in the oven this afternoon and added TJ's Dried Cranberries as a snack for myself....
Boca Chik'n Patties and reheated Blessed Mama's Sauteed Dino Kale with Criminis and Tomatoes for dinner...
Blueberry Cheesecake from Vegan Treats via Loving Hut...
So nothing terribly exciting today, a few leftovers and a few same olds but 100% different grub is on the agenda for tomorrow.

Sunday, September 22nd

This morning, I tried recreating a Gardein Breakfast Sandwich using an Ezekiel English Muffin, Yves Breakfast Patties and Daiya Cheese. It was tasty but probably could have benefited from some pressing in a greasy compression device....
Lunch was at Taste Of Burma. Mr. SVegetarian and I split a couple appetizers to start. A 'Fermented Tea Leaf Salad' $8 Pickled Tea Leaf, Cabbage, Tomatoes, Sesame Seeds, Roasted Peanuts, Broad Beans and Garlic Chips all mixed with Seasoning. Nice and crunchy.
and the 'Samosas' $5 with a fascinating Mint Chili Sauce...
An iced cold '33' $5 to wash it all down...
My 'Tofu Pickled Mustard Green' $14 White Tofu with Pickled Mustard Greens, Onions, Cilantro, and Chili stir fried with Garlic and Ginger. Super spicy. I think I would order it again. Not sure.

'Peruvian Purple Potato Soup' from Molly Katzen's The Heart Of The Plate for dinner. If only I had had some Lime to squeeze on top, alas. Perfect grub for a fall-like evening. Those are my feelings...
Some Vegan Cornbread from Dawson's Market on the side, Inca style....

Would I have had dessert if not for the blog? Doubtful. Nonetheless, a Snap! Bar was devoured this evening.
There you have it. A day of international eats. I think I did some other stuff today besides prepare food, seek out food, eat food and blog about food, but I can't think of what it was.
