WTF Wednesday

Five Plums for lunch...
as well as some Dried Okra. Most people are used to seeing Dried Kale, that's why I went with the Dried Okra (plus Jessica often speaks of her love for Okra, and I thought it might be better dry than fresh. It was). Bought it at Fresh Market .
A Sticky Fingers Brownie with Turtle Trails for dessert.
For the past few weeks we've been enjoying this Mama Turkey passing through the yard multiple times a day with her five babies. Yes it's a crappy picture taken through our kitchen window tonight, but I wanted to share:
We love this little family and are always thrilled when we see them.

Tuesday, August 30th

Lunch: Mushrooms, Grilled Tofu and Tabbouleh with Bean Salad from WF's..
more Mushrooms landed on my Boca Chick'n Patties with steamed Broccoli for dinner...
back to the Flour and Sugar...an entire Sticky Fingers Chocolate Chip Cookie for dessert. It's a big Cookie, but at least it's really flat. Like the earth.
Counting down to the three day weekend.

Monday, August 29th

Sweet & Sour Tofu...
and mediocre Salad from WF's for lunch.
Gardein Beefless Burgers and Oven Fries w/Elise's Fry Sauce for dinner.
Raw Tiramisu from Zia's Cafe via WF's for dessert. It didn't stay properly chilled en route home, but still tasted excellent. Just like real Tiramisu. Ingredients: Cashews, Almonds, Coconut, Agave, Coconut Oil, Raw Cocoa, Cold Presso Espresso, Vanilla & Sea Salt.
Not the most colorful day, but at least no flour and only a pinch of sugar (in the Burgers). Maybe Hurricane Irene knocked some nutritional sense into me.

Sunday, August 28th

The hurricane anticipation left me feeling super wiped out physically and emotionally. For us, thankfully, it was just a lot of heavy rain. To try and recover, I decided to go the FF/VaVa route and eat for life today. Not the energy-sapping grub I normally go for. Lunch was A Really Big Salad With Lots Of (overpriced water-laden) Stuff In It from Wegmans.
Organic Wild Rice, Steamed Broccoli & Soy Curls with Mushrooms & Onions for dinner.
PB & Banana for dessert. Just a little sugar in the PB. I'm not too crazy.
Lots of Finlandia. Wonder what the weather situation is in Finland these days.

Saturday, August 27th

Lunch was The Ultimate Vegetable Wrap - Hummus, Roasted Tomatoes, Cucumbers, Tomatoes, Carrots, Spinach and Shaved Red Onions in a Tortilla Wrap~ $7.99 at The Main Cup. One wrap. Two visions. My pic:
Mr. SV's pic:
WF's Asian Tofu and Steamed Broccoli for dinner.
Jokerz Bar for dessert. (It might've gone through a few temperature changes since I bought it).
Still just getting heavy rain so far, but the Thundershirt has been deployed. So far successfully.
Six to twelve hours to go. Hoping FEMA can step up to the plate.

Friday, August 26th

Lunch was a Hummus Wrap $4.25 from U Wrap. The Lemon Wedge is to make a statement.
Dinner from Sunflower-'Curry Supreme' (Chunks of Soy Protein served with Broccoli, Potatoes, Mushrooms, Carrots and Green Peas in a special Japanese Curry Sauce).
Pumpkin Spice Cake for dessert.
Emergency preparedness..
If you don't hear from me for a couple days, it means Irene took the internet with her when she came through town.

Thursday, August 25th

Veggie Burrito Bowl from Chipotle for lunch.
Gardein Beefless Burgers and Oven Fries w/Elise's Fry Sauce for dinner.
The other third of the Pineapple Coconut Cake from Vegan Treats via Loving Hut for dessert.
What exciting and interesting things will I eat tomorrow?! Only readers of 'The Shenandoah Vegan' will know!

WTF Wednesday

A 'Shenwich' for lunch.
Gardein Crispy Tenders w/Heinz-57 and Roasted Green Beans for dinner.
Thanks to all who thought of me after the quake yesterday.

Tuesday, August 23rd

Lemon Pasta with Tomato & Basil from WFs for lunch...
Gardein Beefless Burgers and Tater Tots w/Elise's Fry Sauce for dinner. I find these to be the best of the best in terms of Veggie Burgers. Of course, there's a price to pay for them.
More WF's goodness for dessert.
I haven't bought one of these in years, but it felt apropos for tonight.
Thankfully, I didnt die at work today. That would've been a bummer.

Monday, August 22nd

Over a pound of Salad from Whole Foods for lunch...
Field Roast Celebration Roast with Imagine Mushroom Gravy, Baked Potato and Roasted Green Beans for dinner.
Pineapple Coconut Cake from Vegan Treats via Loving Hut for dessert.
Another Monday in the can.

Sunday, August 21st

Around noonish today, thunder and lightening were scaring the bejezus out of our littlest one. We opted to take her with us to Mom's Place. That way we could enjoy eating whilst simultaneously trying to take her mind off the Hammer of Thor. The staff gave her lots of attention, which distracted her a little bit. Here she is under our table, in an altered state of panic.
My Veggie Burger $6.95. Great stuff. Stella, aka 'Mom', says they're now selling about four a week.
Field Roast Celebration Roast with Imagine Mushroom Gravy and Steamed Broccoli for dinner.
Magical Coconut Bar for dessert. Only two more left! Making more is gonna be a necessary PITA.
Will I actually get up and go to work tomorrow? That thought is currently inconceivable to me.

Saturday, August 20th

Breakfast was 'The Vegan Wrap' Tofu Scramble, Mixed Veggies, Vegan Bacon and Vegan Cheese, with Home Fries & Salsa $8.95 at Busboys & Poets. People (well, two people) have been advising me to go here for years, so it was exciting to finally make it.
Lunch was the Sushi Combo Special $6.90 at Sake Thai Restaurant. Cucumber Roll & Avocado Roll.
Dinner was breakfast leftovers, reheated in the oven after having sat in the car all day. Definitely tasted better that way.
This is the humongous Sticky Bun from Vegan Treats that I bought at Loving Hut yesterday.
I'm not a huge fan of The Sticky Bun in general, but at least this one was genuinely sticky in certain parts. Not dry all over like other so-called Sticky Buns.
Still partaking.

Friday, August 19th

Fried Wontons $2.50
and a quart of Wonton Soup $7.95 from Loving Hut for lunch.
These Sticky Fingers Brownies were being sold at WF's for $7.99
Tonight I had one with Turtle Trails for dinner/dessert.
Currently imbibing in copious quantities of Vodka. Does not mean I advocate it to Southern Belles. Wish I had something interesting or important to say, but apparently I do not.
